Interactive Blue Light Art by Gabey Tjon a Tham

Interactive artist Gabey Tjon a Tham has created a light installation in which lights dance to music and spiral in different forms. In the piece Repetition At My Distance, the blue lights are transformed into beautiful twists that change shape as they move, sparking a new era of mobile 3D art. The art form in the future may adapt to reacting with other lights, voice and other inputs.

There are a total of 16 dancing streams of light that change with the vibrations of the speakers, varying the speed, brightness, and synchronization as the lights dim and brighten. The lights even move independently and others they all synchronize together. At some points some of the lights disappear while some remain on and still moving.

Puzzle Calendar.

Dia is a clever twist on the calendar that provides an interactive and fun way to interpret passing time. The system was created by Goncalo Campos and is based on 366 (one extra for leap years) modified puzzle pieces that can link to any neighboring piece, allowing you to create a visual expression of how you see the year. It won’t help keep track of daily tasks, but after it’s completed it can be kept as a framed keepsake to reflect on years passed.

FKi ft. Iggy Azalea & Diplo – I Think She Ready (The World’s First Interactive Music Video).

The music video premiere of ‘I Think She Ready’ featuring FKi, newly-signed Interscope rapper Iggy Azalea and Grammy-nominated Diplo debuts exclusively on SSENSE. The video was shot and produced in LA by founder of What You Steal, Alex 2Tone, whose previous video credits include Iggy Azalea’s “My World” and work with Dizzee Rascal and Danny Brown. The video was styled entirely by SSENSE, where you can shop Iggy’s, FKi’s and Diplo’s looks using interactive hotspot technology from wireWAX – every item featured is available to purchase directly through the video.  Kinda interesting.  Click the pic above to see the video.

The Rap Board.

Some of my older work, like the ‘The Mix Up‘ is very sample heavy, and uses certain catch phrases from the biggest rappers.  When I was creating the collection, I had to dig through hours of acapellas to find the right samples to put into the songs, however, if I had known about “The Rap Board” a few years ago, I would have finished that project 3 months sooner.  “The Rap Board” is essentially just a literal board of popular samples from main stream rappers to use as samples.  Pretty dope, click the pic to check the method.
