The folks at Harrods have decided to up the ante releasing a 24-Carat Gold-Plated Xbox One. It’s the same Xbox One Microsoft released worldwide back on November 22nd, but it has been drenched in gold by the customization team at Crystal Rocked. Unfortunately the controller isn’t decked out in gold.

In a social context, trust has several connotations, definitions of trust [typically refers to a situation characterised by the following by the following aspects: one party “trustor” is willing to rely on the actions of another party “trustee”: the situation is directed to the future. In addition, the trustor “voluntarily or forcedly” abandons control over the actions performed by the trustee. As a consequence, the trustor is uncertain about the outcome of the other’s actions: He can only develop and evaluate expectations. The uncertainty involves the risk of failure or harm to the trustor if the trustee will not behave as desired.

Newton Console by Boca do Lobo

This strange cluster of glossy, black and gold spheres is an apple inspired table “Newton Console” by Tinto-based design company Boca do Lobo. The table is ideal for living rooms and hotel lobbies with a modern aesthetic. Made from aluminum and covered with a high-gloss varnish, the table reflects light and pretty much anything surrounding it crisply, adding an extra dimension to this baroque-à-la-mode console. “We design for surprise,” says Boca do Lobo’s CEO Amândio Pereira.

Graphic design is Golden and this artist really showed us that. Its just not ‘slapping text and an image together’ in order to make any print material or online graphics. Its just no sitting in front of a screen, but a blend of research hard work and creativity with lots of time spent.

Usain Bolt’s Golden Nissan GT-R Is Off The Market.

A special one-off ‘Bolt Gold’ edition of Nissan’s flagship supercar has fetched nearly double the list price at auction.  The car, complete with unique gold paint job and Usain Bolt interior gold plaque bearing the 100 meters star’s autograph, was the star lot of an auction that also included items of Usain Bolt merchandise such as racing helmets, special driving suits and boots, all of which helped to nudge the overall total up to $193,191.  The auction, in aid of the six-time gold medal winner’s charitable organization — The Usain Bolt Foundation — saw fierce competition from bidders around the globe when it was launched on eBay Motors on November 22.  As well as being one of the fastest and best-handling cars currently available, the Nissan GT-R is also one of the most technologically advanced vehicles on the road.

Each engine is built in a hermetically sealed chamber that enables ultra-high precision and ultra-low tolerance manufacturing techniques more common in Formula 1 and the aviation industry.  Commenting on the money raised by the auction, Usain Bolt said:”My partnership with Nissan greatly benefits the work of my Foundation. This donation will help many kids get access to better facilities, play areas and educational materials in Jamaica.”  The Olympic star has been working with Nissan since October 2012 when he was appointed the Japanese carmaker’s honorary “Director of Excitement” and is a brand spokesman for the company’s “What if _” global brand campaign.

Absolut Tune Packaging Design

Absolut Tune is a sparkling fusion of Absolut vodka and crisp white wine. This champagne like bottle has a very Tord Boontje-esque double layered, flowery pattern to it. The caged cork glass bottle has two layers of plastic on it – one with a gold on blue, and the top layer with a matte/pearly white lined with gold that peels back ever so dramatically.

Nokia Vertu

Vertu, the exclusive mobile phone maker has decided against Windows 8 and chosen a less than exclusive operating system to power future models. The company famous for its exclusive handsets that incorporate expensive materials including carbon fibre, titanium, leather and even gold, with a concierge button, is dropping its Symbian operating system in favor of Android. The decision is believed to be linked to reports that appeared in the press over the weekend that Nokia has sold the business to EQT, a private equity group. And while Nokia has been looking to sell the business since June, as all Vertu phones are based on Nokia technology and components, it was believed that Vertu, like its now ex-parent company, would move over to the Windows 8 operating system. Popular with NBA stars, rappers and Premier League footballers alike, Vertu was the original luxury handset, the cell phone equivalent of the American Express black card. But since the launch of the Ulysse Nardin Chairman – which combines the best elements of a smartphone wih the best of a handcrafted Swiss chronograph and was recently named by the Guinness Book of Records the world’s most expensive mobile phone series (handsets are strictly limited and can cost up to $100,000) — it has been slowly slipping into second place in the category it created.

Hublot’s Magic Gold Timepiece.

Hublot is launching the first ever timepiece that has a scratch-resistant gold case. Called the Hublot Magic Gold, the watches will be presented at Basel World 2012.  Hublot gold has a hardness rating of almost 1000 Vickers (most hardened steels are up to 600 Vickers).  This makes Hublot the hardest in the world, and by some margin it can only really be “scratched” by a diamond.

$19,000 Golden Shoe Laces.

For $19,000, a company called Mr. Kennedy will make you 24-carat gold laces which take about 120 hrs to make by hand.  “The world’s only precious metal shoelaces” are finely crafted using “ancient, artisan jewelry techniques.”  The man behind the laces is Colin Hart, who named his company after ‘Mr Kennedy’, inventor of the modern-day shoelace.

He explains that shoelaces are boring and hopes that his blinged-out offerings will attract people who enjoy the “practical made special.”  Adding to their exclusivity, only ten pairs of the shoelaces will ever be made.

‘Mother Of Pearl’. The Dior Touch Phone.

While there are iPhones and Blackberries encrusted in gold, platinum and diamonds Dior has decided this is exactly where they should enter the market with a new phone.  The Dior Touch Phone runs on Android and it’s made from the finest materials, such as: sapphire crystal, steel, gold, diamond and mother-of-pearl.  (I can already see my cousin Z running around with one of theses.)

Only 99 pieces of the Dior Touch Phone have been made, and as far as the specs; there is a 32″ screen with 854 x 480 pixels resolution, a 5MP camera, microSD card slot, and full connectivity suite on board.  But I’m sure most people would get it simply because of those four little letters on it.

Brikk Trim Titanium Case for iPhone 5.

Luxury design company Brikk will launch a series of limited edition luxury iPhone cases, profits from which will benefit those in need around the world.  The limited edition collection revolves around the theme of “Altruistic Precision” and is launched with the Trim series of luxury titanium cases for the iPhone 4.  The luxury cases are available in gold, platinum, ‘black DLC’ and ‘grey stealth’ finishes and cost from $3,000 to $4,500.  They are initially only be available at Roseark shops in Los Angeles but product roll-outs in New York, Tokyo, Paris and London will follow.  The company is offering to trade Trim cases purchased before the end of this year for Trim cases designed for the iPhone 5 should the external design for the soon-to-be released phone differ from current iPhone models.  Brikk claims that for every Trim case sold one metric ton of rice will be distributed to “those in need through select NGOs.” No further information was given by Brikk in the September 29 statement as to how this rice would be distributed.  Index Mundi which compiles country statistics using data from organizations such as the IMF estimates that currently one ton of rice costs $573.75 (€421.12).  The most expensive iPhone case, featuring 300 Swarovski crystals and estimated at $40,000, was recently displayed at the ‘Miracle Mile’ shopping mall in Las Vegas.

Rick Ross’s Plaque For I’m On One.

This morning I came across a pretty straight-to-the-point video of Rick Ross receiving a gold plaque from DJ Khaled for the smash single ‘I’m On One’.  Khaled promised that a platinum plauqe, and a double platinum were both on their way, which is a huge accomplishment for any artist.  And not only is ‘I’m On One’ one of my favorite records, but the footage from the show in this video was taken at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA the very same night a client of mine got me VIP tickets to the show.  So it was a good feeling watching this video, and knowing I was right there by the stage during that performance.  Check the method below.

Josh Farria: Craftmanship.

Click to R.S.V.P.

I’ve featured a vast collection of photographers on this great blog, but none so far have the same creative style, or characteristic intricacies as Josh Farria.  Now, this in normally the part where I go into detail about what makes this artist stand out from the sea of mundane, generic photographers that litter the internet.  But instead, I’d rather invite you to see for yourself next Friday night in San Francisco at the Infinite store on 627 Post.  The rest of the info is in the photo above, and check the method in the photos below to get a taste of the amazing work being displayed at the gallery.  Click the pic above to R.S.V.P.

The Breguet Reveil Musical Watch.

Breguet has unveiled a new one-of-a-kind Reveil Musical watch, created specially for Only Watch 2011. It enchants the audience with a unique tune, “Castle in the sky”, played on demand or at a pre-set time.  The new Breguet watch boasts a round-shaped 48mm case in 18-carat white gold. The case-band is engraved with a musical stave.  The model reveals rounded and soldered lugs as well as screw-secured spring-bars. Its back side is engraved with the “Piece Unique” inscription.  Inside the timepiece is hidden an automatic mechanical cal. 0900 movement. It is numbered and marked with the Breguet signature. The mechanism incorporates a silicon escape-wheel and a lever as well as a Breguet balance spring.  Adorned with 59 jewels, the caliber operates at a frequency of 4Hz and offers a 55-hour power reserve.  The new Breguet Reveil Musical watch strikes the eye with a rotating hand-guilloched dial.  It depicts a child whose hand is reaching out to an adult hand, a symbolic gesture of the “inter-generational solidarity and support for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy”, according to Breguet.

Star Wars Swim.

Probably one of the posts that’ll have all the geeks going gaga.  (It’s not really new, but I still had to feature it.)  So if you ever wondered if the Princess Leia Gold bikini was the only sexy piece in Star Wars, here’s how you can change your mind. BlackMilkClothing created two amazing Swimsuits that features the designs of R2D2 and C3PO. Sold for 85$ each, these are probably going to be worn by every star wars fan’s girlfriend.

The Golden Nugget hotel in downtown Las Vegas is living up to its name with the installation of an ATM that dispenses gold instead of cash.  Visitors are now able to buy gold coins and 24-karat “bars” weighing from 1 gram to 1 ounce at the new Gold to Go machine.  Prices automatically adjust every 10 minutes to reflect actual market value. The one ounce coin, at the moment, goes for about $1,400.

Golden Nugget owners believe a gold vending machine is actually a perfect fit for the casino. They already house the largest gold nugget in the world.  The first Gold To Go machine debuted in Florida just a few months ago. Operators say it’s so popular it has to be refilled about every three days.  The machine only accepts cash and is gold plated, bolted to the ground and virtually impossible to move.

Gresso X iPad.

When I saw that the luxury manufacturer Gresso is producing an iPad made from African Blackwood and 18k gold, and I instantly thought of Reginald Sylvester and Carlo P.  It’s your standard iPad encased in a 200 year old African Blackwood sheath that is said to have become Gresso’s hallmark.  Boasted of being the ‘most valuable tree in the world’, the wood is prized due to the elegant rich ebony look that it renders.  African Blackwood is tough owing to some of its natural features and the unique processing technology that has been patented by its designer.  The company claims that no two iPads manufactured by them will be alike, each shows off its own uniqueness.  The iPod Gresso dropped New Year’s Eve, but there’s not official word on how much it costs.

Yanko Earphones.

It’s quite apparent that all ladies will have a soft corner for the Accessories MP3 Player. Honestly, how many MP3 players can be as subtle and discreet as this! Fashion statement, jewelry, bling…you name it, and it’s there! I adore the little loop earring that goes into the ear as headphones, now only if Cartier or Tiffany can get a whiff of this…

The Most Expensive Sushi on Earth

An ambitious chef from the Philippines has created the world’s most expensive sushi, wrapped in gold leaves and small African diamonds.  The five pieces of sushi are worth about $2,000 (Start saving up Sadie).  These diamond encrusted delicacies were created by chef Araneta Jr. , who said his unusual food artworks are used as gifts in marriage proposals or during courtship.
