Coca-Cola has launched a limited-edition collection of Diet Coke cans designed by their creative director Marc Jacobs to fete the soda brand’s anniversary in Europe. The trio of cans pays tribute to the fashion decades of the 1980s, 90s and 2000s, with each silhouette created to incarnate the woman of her time. Inspired by the bright lights of Broadway and Radio City Music Hall where the zero-calorie drink first made its global debut in 1982, Jacobs sets a tuxedoed woman against a motif of butterfly bowties for the 1980s, for instance. The 1990s were marked by glamour and “sartorial audacity,” represented by a dame clad in a fuchsia frock, long gloves, stiletto heels and extravagant felt hat. And, according to Jacobs, the first decade of 2000 can be characterized by a collision of sporty chic energy, incarnated by a silhouette sporting a bob, geometric stripes and a houndstooth bikini bottom. Jacobs takes over from Jean Paul Gaultier who served as creative director for Diet Coke in 2012. The Marc Jacob cans are now available across Europe.
Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said global demand for ultra-luxury sports cars will probably not increase next year. The main reasons for this are the European debt crisis and the slowing of China’s economy. “We are very cautious for next year. The Europe crisis is not over,” he said. To make up for the slowing sales in Europe and China, Lamborghini is now looking to expand in markets like Singapore and Hong Kong. The maker of the Aventador supercar also opened a second dealership in April in India, where the number of millionaires will more than double by 2015. The ultra-luxury unit of Volkswagen AG hasn’t made the decision whether to introduce an SUV, Winkelmann said. Lamborghini unveiled an SUV prototype — the Urus — at the Beijing car show this year.
Tons of people are just coming back to the bay from summer vacations, but if you’re like me, you’d take your vacation to somewhere warm in the winter. Most people across the globe prefer to escape to some exotic beach destinations where they can spend some quality time with their friends and family regardless of the time of year though. There are tons of beach destinations in Europe, but only a few beach destinations can gather more crowd because of their exotic landscape and climate. I picked my favorite five to go to. Now before we start, I haven’t been to all of these locations, (Croatia and Turkey are among some of the spots I have yet to travel through) but I chose them all because of their exclusivity, scenic beauty, and the male to female ratio.
Navagio Beach – Greece
Many people want to escape the crowd when they think about beach destinations which makes Navagio Beach really popular. It’s a small beach which can only be reached by boat from Port Vromi. This beach is also known as Shipwreck Bay and is rated as one of the best beach in Europe.
Playa Papagayo – Spain
There is no doubt that when we think about Europe, we think about top tourism countries like France and Spain. The Playa Papagayo is a virgin beach that attracts a lot of people from across the globe. The beach can only be reached through a dirt road and therefore not many people prefer to come here but it still gets the most number of votes during destination and tourism surveys which is why it is second on the list.
Zlatni Rat – Croatia
If you’re looking for some exquisite beach destinations then don’t miss this one, there are very rare beaches like Zlatni Rat that can change shapes right in front of your eyes. This golden pebble beach also known as Golden Horn has the ability to change shape and position depending on wind directions. This is truly unique in its own way and many tourists flock from different parts of the world only to see it change shapes.
Zlatni Rat is the most spectacular beach on Adriatic Sea, located on Island Brac nearby a spot called Bol
Spiaggia Sabbie Nere – Italy
Are you tired of watching those pristine white beaches in Bahamas and Hawaii? Well, you can take a break and come down to Italy where you will find this volcanic beach which is also known as Black Sands Beach. The beach is made up of volcanic pebble sand giving it a look unique from other white sand beaches.
Patara – Turkey
Some folks like virgin beaches where there is no human intervention. If you want to be one with nature then head to Patara Beach at Turquoise Coast in Turkey. The beach does not have any buildings around or any human civilization and it is one of the few beaches in the world where Loggerhead turtles come to lay their eggs.
Patara is a birthplace of St Nicholas (Santa Claus), with a long beach on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast
New isn’t exactly the most appropriate word to describe these next films, all of which are franchises that have banked big bucks in summers past, and are making waves once again with new splashes in the box office. Weather your familiar with all the titles in each franchise or your new to some of the films, all of these titles are sure to have ads all over the place in months.
Fast Five
Now I KNOW what most people are thinking when they see this, that the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise should have stopped trying years ago. Or that if it weren’t for the 4th and most recent installment in the series, no one would care about the rag-tag team of street racing criminals. Which is all probably true, but since seeing the trailer for the newest movie in the line up, I’ve noticed that when the focus is on a heist and not on CG cars doing impossible stunts, the movies appeal increases 10 fold. I was also disappointed when I heard The Rock was a part of the film, but actually seeing him in action quelled my fears. Check the method below.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion of returning all-stars from every chapter of the explosive franchise built on speed in Fast Five. In this installment, former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favorites Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
This fourth installment of the Pirates franchise boasts a new crew villain, (who just reminds me of Shamus from family guy), a love interest for Jack Sparrow, and a new quest without the old weight of some of the main characters of the old movies. From what I’ve heard, the writing on this movie frees the story up to go to new places, and in new directions by “forgetting” some of the past, and simply focusing on this new adventure. I’m anxious to see how high this movie rates on the box office lists come summer. Bring rum.
Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz) forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).
Transformers: Dark Of The Moon
Although the title kinda reminds me of a twilight spin off, I’m still very curious to see what this movie makes of the franchise. After hearing Michael Bay give himself some harsh constructive criticism in an interview about “Revenge of the Fallen” (the sequel) I’m a bit more confident that he can handle this movie and have it be more successful than the second, and maybe even the original Transformers movie. There are tons of rumors in circulation about why Megan Fox got cut from the movie, but I do think if it’s explained the correct way, and people can move past it, the new love interest will end up helping the movie instead of hurting it (as some people have speculated). But in true Michael Bay fashion, he’s trying to keep it a secret so there is no synopsis for the movie, never the less, also in true Michael Bay fashion, we all know there will be about 20 million dollars worth of explosions. So as I’m sure everyone is aware, I’m located in the Bay Area of California, and for those who don’t know, the local subway system is referred to as B.A.R.T (Bay Area Rapid Transit). Many of the stations differ in appearance, but none of them are anywhere near as spectacular as some of the european subway stations below. Check the method below. (And my appologies for not having the specific information about what country each stop is located.)
