How To Make A Lambo.

Kyrgyz-Lamborghini

Not sure what to do with your old Volvo? New Format, a design studio in the Kyrgyz Republic, has an interesting solution.  With a 1982 Volvo as the base, wheels from a BMW X5, spare parts and scrap metal from the junkyard, plenty of imagination, and three months of perseverance, the agency has succeeded in creating a rather convincing knock-off of the Lamborghini Gallardo, a car usually priced at €300,000.  But the “Kyrgyz Lamborghini” seems to be just the beginning. Meder Koilubaev, artistic director at New Format, has expressed his ambition to launch a new concept of custom one-of-a-kind cars made from spare parts in true Kyrgyz style.

The Art of Tailoring is both a great piece of art and a good advertising. Made as a showcase for the Jawdat Ejjeh shop in Beirut, Lebanon, it took exactly 10 people & 3 month of work to create the whole concept. With 9 hours to set up the 1292 spools of thread & their 63 colors, the young lebanese team created a great way of proposing an appealing display with an actual message.

Ong and Ong Pte’s Modern House in Singapore

Designed by architects Ong & Ong Pte, this modern house in Singapore is meant to give you “a spatial experience that excites the senses by promoting light.” The architects sought to create a relationship between the metallic elements and subtle tones within the house by wrapping aluminum cladding in the air well. This air well divided the two sections of the house and became the perfect place for an indoor/outdoor swimming pool. The coolest part, of course, is that you can open up the glazed partitions of the house so that the first floor becomes one large living space. The ground floor, then, is not only a lounge and dinning area, it is an ideal place to relax and sit poolside, a place to sip margaritas and soak in the rays.

Marc Fichou

Marc Fichou is folding sharks, birds, foxes and all kinds of other animals out of a colored, squared paper. His intention is to create a piece where the image cannot be separated from its referent. This naturally led him towards origami because of the reversible character of its folding process: each can be unfolded back to its initial two-dimensional square, and in so doing retain the physical marks of its creases. The final piece is an unfolded photograph, where folds in the picture blend with the real folds, thus blurring the line between image and matter.
