Sydney Australia Is Gettin All GeeDup.

Fashion changes drastically from place to place, and touring Australia for a few weeks made me want to look into whats hot in the Land Down under.  The most striking brand I came across was Geedup, an Australian clothing company, started by two brothers. Their style is extremely reminiscent of the Cali streetwear scene, the selection of pieces is wide enough that I could wear a full outfit from them everyday for two weeks and still not have run through them all.  Check the method below.

Established in the summer of 2010, the group of young entrepreneur’s that founded Geedup set up shop in Darlinghurst, and Parramatta, Australia.  I hope at some point they get a location in the States, however, you don’t have to fly to Australia to get your hands on their gear.  Their online shop has a great selection as well as accessories, which you can view by clicking any of the photos in the post, or right here.  I’m making it a priority to grab a few pieces before I head out.

Coming off the heels of their Undefeated collaboration, Bape announces their latest collab with French clothing company Lacoste.  The unusual pairing will be an exclusive capsule collection release for the Japanese Bape store. Meshing Bape’s streetwear essence with Lacoste’s luxury-wear, both brands manage to drop one of the better collabs seen this year. The capsule collection consists of polo shirts, sweatpants, hoodies, crewnecks and graphic tees. The full-zip hoodie reimagined as a crocodile is undoubtedly the standout piece from the offerings, while the combined logo offers a clever take on the collaboration, but every piece in the collection will include Lacoste’s signature crocodile logo and Bape’s gorilla logo.  The Lacoste L!ve x Bape capsule collection will be available at Japanese Bape locations starting March 28.

The featured “Cropped Militia Jacket” and the “Loose Sweater”, made from walnut wood material on a wool base.  Once grown, the wood is deconstructed into pieces, and then attached to a textile base, creating a material that is half wood, half textile, and completely fragmentary.  The “Wooden Textiles” in this collection are made with Elisa Strozyk, uniquely for this collection.  The simplified look of polygonal geometry is meant to represent breaking the body down into a pixelated memory.

Nuwa is a series of imaginary characters, in reference to the creative goddess of the same name, who shaped the first humans with some clay. Created by  Nadia Wicker fascination for the clothing extravagance, the painting and the movement, led me to create this album of heroines, warriors and fanciful queens. Nuwa got 4 honorables mentions at International Photography Awards and was published in Absurde Magazine.
