The Alila Villas Soori Resort.

I made the mistake of following a Bali page on my Tumblr, and have been addicted to the radiance and beauty of the island.  After stumbling across the Alila Villas resort, the team know we had to post it.  If you want to learn more about the food, the accommodations, or anything else, check out their site here, and some more photos of the property below.

Green Village, founded by jewelry designer John Hardy and designed by his daughter Elora, is a community of sustainable and ecological houses sitting along the Ayung River in Bali. Each of the homes are made entirely of bamboo, from Bali-based bamboo and construction company Ibuku, from the window frames to the staircase, tables, chairs, floors, and even the cabinets and the walls.

What started as a photographer trying to capture as much as he could while traveling while his girlfriend pulled him along has now become an internet sensation. Russian producer Murad Osmann and his gorgeous girlfriend, Natalia Zakharova, have been traveling the world together for quite some time. Beginning in Barcelona in September of 2011, Osmann started labeling his Instagram photospictures “Follow me” where he takes beautiful pictures of his girlfriend pulling his arm through exotic and familiar locations around the world. In the small breaks between his busy work schedule, the jet-setting lovebirds have travelled to Singapore, Bali, Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany, England, and China and continue to document their journeys.

Eco luxury does not get any better than this. The Singapore based Alila brand has a firm grasp of what it takes to do it right. It is a brand to watch in the coming years with 20 new properties launching in Asia as well as Portugal. Uluwatu is only 30 minutes from the airport (depending on traffic) and does indeed have the same WOW effect as Soori. Stunning views, cliff-top balconies overlooking the ocean, beautifully designed villas with their own pool and decking, indoor and outdoor showers and just space. They understand space. They design spaces that make you immediately feel you are not “in Kansas” any more. It is unlike anything we run into in our everyday lives, or even in our customary luxury moments.
