The Avengers: Endgame Trailer Is HERE.

Finally. After endless rumours, the Avengers 4 trailer is here and, well, I guess we’d best start calling it Avengers: Endgame now.  The Russo Brothers were the first to share the teaser and they posted the following message to accompany this epic sneak peek:
“For those who have been here since the beginning.
For those who have joined along the way.
For the best fans in the Universe.
This trailer is for you…
With much love and gratitude for your patience,
The RB’s”

Avengers: Infinity War – Brand New Trailer.

Following the disappointing Superbowl TV spot, Marvel and the Russo brothers have more than redeemed themselves by dropping what will undoubtedly become one of the highest viewed trailers of all time.  Marvel can’t seem to do any wrong.  With the outrageous success of Black Panther, their next MCU entry is destined to do just as well or better.  Check the trailer out below.

The New Iron-Man… (Toys).

Hot Toys has revealed its upcoming figure based on Iron Man’s appearance in ‘Avengers: Infinity War and it provides a detailed new look at Tony Stark’s upgraded armor and the amazing weapons he’ll wield.  Spoilers below…

Avengers: Infinity War is going to feature updated looks for a lot of our favourite heroes, including Iron Man. We’ve known for a while that Tony Stark will be rocking a brand new suit of armour in the highly anticipated movie and now Hot Toys has unveiled an action figure giving us a detailed look both at its many capabilities and the various changes which have been made to the hero’s appearance here.

The figure features an interchangeable helmeted head with metallic red, gold and silver colored armor painting and a newly painted head sculpt with striking likeness, LED light-up functions scattered throughout the armor, a variety of Iron Man’s latest weapons including interchangeable LED light-up Nano Repulsor Cannon, Hand Cannon on left arm, a pair of attachable Nano Boosters on the back, and a specially designed figure stand with the movie’s logo. So, that confirms nanotechnology then.

Avengers Infinity War: Day One Documentary.

ne2lg0p3c84v53_1_b

To the closer followers of Marvel, and the mechanics behind their super hero films, Christmas came early last night when Marvel released a short “documentary” about Avengers Infinity War.  The video is quite informative, and gives the laymen some news they will be excited about, and the comic book connoisseur some things to be excited about.  (Why doesn’t Thor have his Hammer, and are Tony’s new suits automated, or is building them for himself.)  Regardless of how deep movie goers get into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the video below provides a very interesting look into the 3rd Avengers installment.

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron (Official Trailer).

Although it was supposed to premiere during next week’s new episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Marvel Studios has gone ahead and officially released the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer following an online leak.  “Dammit, Hydra,” Marvel tweeted in response to the rapid spread of the leaked trailer.  Thankfully, you can now check out a wholly official version in the player below along with an all-new teaser poster.

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

James Spader Cast as Lead Villain Ultron in ‘Avengers’ Sequel

Good news for James Spader – the quirky character actor is coming back in a big way as one of Marvel’s ultimate villains. Spader has just landed the title role in “The Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron,” the upcoming sequel to 2012’s record-setting superhero jamboree. Ultron is an evil robot that can travel through time and uses his talents to change the present so he can have the upper hand in the future. But, departing from the comic, writer-director Joss Whedon plans to strip some of Ultron’s powers for the upcoming film. “I knew right away what I wanted to do with him,” Whedon recently told Entertainment Weekly. “He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, godd— it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic.” Spader’s Ultron will be making trouble for Marvel’s costumed heroes in the movie, including Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, and Thor. However, since Ultron is entirely mechanical, it remains to be seen if Spader will be on set in a suit, interacting with his fellow cast members, or if he’ll be providing the voice for a CGI creation. So far, Marvel and Disney haven’t weighed in on the matter. Whedon first revealed that Ultron would be the main villain in the “Avengers” sequel during his appearance at San Diego Comic-Con in July. And that Spader will be playing a less powerful Ultron, this should give fans plenty of room to speculate on how the writer-director will approach the character, given Spader’s ability to play bad guys who are at once charming and a little creepy.

At the Marvel Studios panel in Hall H for this years ComicCon San Diego, writer/director Joss Whedon took to the stage to announce that the official title for the sequel to The Avengers will be Avengers: Age of Ultron.  Whedon also revealed a brief logo teaser for the film.  Age Of Ultron features favorites from the first “Avengers” film and new Marvel characters never before seen on the big screen.  Avengers: Age of Ultron is slated to begin production in March 2014 and open in theaters on May 1, 2015.

Batman/Superman Movie Confirmed.

SUPERMAN-AND-BATMAN-dc-comics-33738718-1920-1080

I was so tuckered from E3 that wasn’t personally able to make it to Comic-Con San Diego this year, but I was still keeping an ear to the ground for big news, and I found it via SuperHeroHype.com.

On the heels of the worldwide success of “Man of Steel,” director Zack Snyder is bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time—Batman and Superman—for the first time on the big screen. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The current hit, “Man of Steel,” has taken in more than $630 million at the worldwide box office to date, and climbing. Along with its star, Henry Cavill, the upcoming film brings back Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new Batman has yet to be cast.
Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date in Summer 2015.
Silverman stated, “Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he’s a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way.” Kroll added, “We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack and his team on this next movie. The success of ‘Man of Steel’ is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack has in store for all of us.”
Diane Nelson, President, DC Entertainment, noted, “Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack’s continuing vision for the DC Universe.”
Zack Snyder, who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con today, breaking the news to audiences there, later said, “I’m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.”
The new film brings back Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder as producers. This time, Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are serving as executive producers, along with Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan.
Thomas offered, “Whilst our ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack’s fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can’t wait to see what Zack does with these characters.”
The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, and Batman characters created by Bob Kane, published by DC Entertainment.

On Tuesday, Marvel’s Iron Man 3 became Disney’s fifth release to cross the $400 million mark at the domestic box office. The film, which has now earned over $1.2 billion and is the #5 film of all time globally, also recently passed Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and is currently the #6 film of all time at the international box office with more than $803 million.  After achieving the second-biggest domestic opening in history with $174.1 million, Iron Man 3 crossed the $1 billion threshold globally in 23 days, making it Disney’s sixth billion-dollar and second highest-grossing release of all time, behind only Marvel’s The Avengers.

While doing the research on the box office gross of the latest Ironman film, I came across a small collection done by Marvel in 2010 for ‘Iron Man: Industrial Revolution’ put up by Juan Doe.  Check the epic artwork.

Avengers “Iron Man” Power Band

If you’re fan of the Avengers then you must be familiar of this hand band. Tony Stark did many incredible super things to save the earth with this band. Well, if you haven’t seen check it here. Although this replica of Iron Man’s band doesn’t produce any super power like that in movie but it can add a little elegance to your wrist.

New Statue Images Show Off The Avengers’ Mark VII Iron Man Armor.

Kotobukiya, a Japanese toy company beloved for its dolls and statues, has released, through their Facebook page, new images of their upcoming Iron Man Mark VII statue design, which will be featured on the big sceen in May 4th’s Marvel’s The Avengers. The official description of the model is as follows:

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! After the amazing success and popularity of the Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America films, Marvel is preparing to unleash the greatest superhero team of all time in just a few short months. Gathering together the main characters of the previous films to defend the Earth from certain destruction, the Avengers will debut in May of 2012 with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark and his heroic alter ego Iron Man. To commemorate the triumphant new appearance of this iconic character, Kotobukiya is proud to announce the all-new Avengers Movie Iron Man Mark VII ARTFX Statue!

After surviving imprisonment by terrorists, billionaire industrialist Tony Stark created the Mark II armor suit. This was followed up soon after by the iconic Mark III suit used to battle Stane and his Iron Monger suit at the culmination of the first film, and the upgraded Mark IV armor in the sequel. Never one to rest on his laurels, Tony has brought his science and technology to a whole new cutting edge with the Mark VII Iron Man, the most advanced high-tech personal armor suit on the planet. Using new 3D sculpting techniques, Kotobukiya has created the finest and most exciting ARTFX statue of any Iron Man, bringing more fine detailing than previous hand-sculpted releases for a more dynamic display. Tony stands in a classic Iron Man pose, legs planted and arms held back as he prepares to unleash a devastating strike. The incredible statue comes equipped with a three-mode LED chest light-up feature: off, continuous on, and triggered by the built-in motion detector! Iron Man’s eyes also feature continuous LED lighting in both modes.

Iron Man Mark VII stands nearly 16 inches tall (1/6th scale) on an incredible shattered concrete base that bears the marks of furious battle. This pre-painted, snap-fit ARTFX Statue is easy to assemble so you can have your Iron Man Mark VII on display in no time. Avengers assemble.

The Avengers Superbowl Trailer.

The 30-second version of the new trailer for The Avengers that ran today on the Super Bowl gave us just the barest of glimpses at the Hulk. The extended, 60-second version doesn’t show us much more of the angry green giant, but we do get to see the lovable rageaholic from the front, at least.

Even more tantalizing: Blink and you’ll miss a couple shots that appear to feature the mysterious alien army that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) brags about to Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). They’ve been long rumored to be the Skrulls, and the seemingly dark-green armored uniforms of the invading horde would certainly lend fuel to that fire.  But without a doubt, the best line in the trailer comes at the very end.  “I have an army”…. “We have a Hulk.”  Check the method below.

The Avengers To Battle The X-Men?

As Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, the Hulk and more team up on the big screen in Marvel’s The Avengers next May, the comic book Marvel Universe is planning something just as epic. Announced today, April will see the beginning of a 12-issue superhero showdown that, thanks to studio rights issues, is even bigger than the silver screen can handle (especially since the current Avengers line-up includes Spider-Man as well). Check out the below press release for full details of Avengers vs X-Men:

This April, The Avengers and the X-Men—the two most popular franchises in comics history—go to war! Marvel is proud to announce AVENGERS VS X-MEN, a landmark 12-issue pop culture event bringing together the world’s greatest super heroes—Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Magneto and more—for an unforgettable battle beginning in April 2012.

AVENGERS VS X-MEN is written by a team of the top-selling authors in the comic book industry today: Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron, Jonathan Hickman, Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction. This unprecedented assembly of acclaimed writers is joined by a trio of the industry’s superstar artists: John Romita Jr., Olivier Coipel and Adam Kubert. The Avengers and X-Men have learned that the all-powerful embodiment of both death and rebirth known as the Phoenix Force is on a crash course for Earth…and it needs a new host to unleash its immeasurable power. But what is the shocking decision tied to the Phoenix’s return that will pit the Avengers against the X-Men? And when good friends become bitter enemies, what does this mean for the future of the Marvel Universe?

Shipping twice monthly, this epic 12-issue limited series will be available in comic stores and on the Marvel Comics app on the same day—additionally, each print issue of AVENGERS VS X-MEN includes a code for a free digital copy of the issue on the Marvel Comics app at no additional cost to fans or retailers.

“AVENGERS VS X-MEN brings together the most powerful forces in comics for a super hero war like you’ve never seen before and will never see again. We all want to see the best of the best go against each other—Lakers & Celtics; Ali & Frazier; Yankees & Red Sox; and in comics it’s the Avengers fighting the X-Men, ” said Axel Alonso, Editor in Chief, Marvel Entertainment. “We’ve brought together the biggest writers, biggest artists and biggest characters for the biggest story we’ve ever told. This is the kind of high-octane action-packed story that fans demand while also having a profound effect on every character involved—and reshaping the Marvel Universe in its wake.”

The New Spiderman.

Behold. The newest Spider-Man is here in all his dark, mysterious, side-lit glory.  Here’s the first official shot from director Marc Webb’s upcoming revamp starring Andrew Garfield. And it looks like our friendly neighborhood webslinger has had a bad day.  Not only does he appear to have been battered around—maybe by a lizard tail?—but he’s bummed enough to go strolling down the street without his mask on. True, it’s New York City, where people might not give a guy in a skintight bodysuit a second glance, but why take the chance?  Still, our fave part about this pic is the backpack. For all his power, you can’t forget Peter Parker is still a high school student. Yes, he might save the world, but he still has to get his homework done.  No one ever said being super was easy.

The Avengers First Teaser.

I got my first glimpse of the “Avengers” teaser, which is much to my dismay, didn’t really show sh*t.  It’s very reminiscent of the first “Dark Knight” teaser that just showed the Batman logo in flames, and sound clips from the film.  I would have said that the trailer was a hoax if it wasn’t the mighty Samuel L. Jackson himself narrating.  But take a look, its nothing too revealing, but it does put a warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach.

Batman & Superman… Not Goin’ Down.

Many, many people have been expecting some sort of Batman/Superman team up, much like the recently announced Avengers movie.  But, according the Christopher Nolan, that’s not necessarily going to be the case.

There was a lot of excitement a few months back when Nolan’s name was mentioned as the “godfather” of a Superman reboot at Warner Bros., and speaking on the decision for the first time, Nolan told Boucher that his involvement with the Superman franchise came about from them having reached an impasse on what to do with their third Batman film and David Goyer having an idea of what could be done with the Man of Steel:

“He basically told me, ‘I have this thought about how you would approach Superman. I immediately got it, loved it and thought: That is a way of approaching the story I’ve never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting. I wanted to get Emma and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way.

As mentioned previously, Nolan would act as a producer for another director, which has yet to be determined as they develop the script. From there, Nolan’s involvement may be similar to Peter Jackson’s on District 9 as he moves onto the third Batman film. He didn’t have a lot more to say about the Superman reboot except that he did have an appreciation for what Singer tried to do in connecting his film to those of Richard Donner:

“A lot of people have approached Superman in a lot of different ways. I only know the way that has worked for us that’s what I know how to do.”

It’s suggested that like his two Batman movies, the Superman story will take place in a world where Superman is the only superhero, so one probably can’t expect this Superman to meet Christian Bale’s Batman or either character to be involved with a future Justice League movie.

“Each serves to the internal logic of the story. They have nothing to do with each other,” Nolan told them.

Eventually, the Nolans and Goyer got over the earlier impasse with a second Batman sequel, and things are certainly moving forward on that third movie. Nolan wouldn’t confirm any of the dozens of internet rumors about who might play the villain but he did say:

“Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story, and in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story. We have a great ensemble, that’s one of the attractions of doing another film, since we’ve been having a great time for years.”

Frame from "I Am Legend"

There have even been massive hints, like the few frames in ‘I Am Legend’ in which a poster is displayed with the classic mashup logo.  But according to the big guns, it won’t be so.  (Sorry Reg)
