In recent months I have come across some amazing work that really knows how to capture your eyes and that is exactly what this design company has done. The Pressing Pigeon, primarily sells ‘Eye Chart Quotes’ in their shop but they also have some other typographic designs that they are trying to expand on. This adorable couple, Amanda Maldonado and Cameron Aiken design everything together. She has her work station and he has his, while they enjoy each others great company. They are able to work at home and have a great time while doing something that they love together. Cameron explained that,
The reason we moved forward with the eye charts is that we both love quoting movies, books, authors and song lyrics. Amanda and I always find ourselves joking around and quoting everyone. We tried a few ideas to come up with a layout that would be fun and clever, that’s when we decided on the ‘Eye Chart’ look. If you have just the image to look at, you first recognize the name at the bottom (if there is one) and then you have to figure out what the ‘Eye Chart’ is trying to spell out. It’s quite entertaining to watch someone sit there and stare blankly at the image until it clicks and they figure out with it says.
Their Goal is is to offer as many quotes, lyrics and idioms as possible. Amanda and Cameron plan to use this as a source of revenue to branch into other areas of creativity and sales. It could lead to another print shop, baked goods, soaps, nail polish or anything else that they find interesting.
