The Miscellaneous Artworks Of David Fuhrer.

David is a self taught freelance artist born 1985, in the capital of Switzerland, Bern. Grown up in the 90′s has influenced David’s work. He started experimenting with Visuals in the early days of the Computer.  With a focus on illustration, and an even tighter focus on intricate detailing David Fuhrer’s high scale Artworks are some of the most inspiring and exciting work to flourish from the community. His imagination in unity with his broad library of skills has allowed him to create some of the most out-of-this-world images.  Fuhrers work is a rare treat for the eyes and mind as the depth of his work is as mesmerizing as the feel that his pieces exude.

Grafh – I’m A Boss Freestyle (Official Video).

It’s no surprise that I’m a huge Grafh fan.  And his recent departure from BlackHand was a bit of a surprise, and a disappointment, however, the loss of his former label hasn’t slowed him down.  His newest freestyle over the ‘I’m A Boss’ beat was so dope, it was only right that he made a video for it.  Check the method below.

Rick Genest.

A while back, I had thrown up a post about the Mugler Mens Fall 2011 Campaign, and I was blown away by the creativity of their ads.  However, I was a bit misinformed about what I was actually seeing.  I was under the impression that the model in the photos was done up by make up artists to look the way he did for the pictures, but this isn’t the case.  The model in the photos is a man named Rick Genest, who’s gone through EXTENSIVE tattoo sessions to get the appearance he’s obtained.  After finding out about Mr. Genest’s amazing work, I found a few more shots of things he’s done for fashion magazines, and even a short video.

Kaws x Hennessy Limited Edition V.S Bottle.

Since my birthday is just around the corner, I’ve been in a little bit of a drinking mood, and searching for somethign special to buy for myself.  When I heard that Hennessy announced yesterday their exclusive Hennessy V.S bottle collaborative project with world-renowned artist, KAWS, I was disappointed I’d have to wait till it hits shelves in September 2011.  Each Kaws Hennessy V.S bottle features signature Kaws artwork and is individually numbered, making this collectors item that much more special.  The Hennessy KAWS V.S bottle will be sold in 750ml sizes and will retail for $29.99.  The new bottle design will debut later in July at a private launch event in NYC.  In addition to the limited edition bottle, the duo will create multiple digital shorts, which will be distributed throughout the year.

Kenny Powers Runs K-Swiss.

I’ve been a huge fan of shows of HBO since the first time I saw ‘Entourage’.  But there’s no denying that Kenny Powers from the show ‘East Bound and Down’ is boss, (as is evidence from the video below).  Check the method to see his (fictional) take over of K-Swiss.

Heather Feather.

Heather Feather may not be your generic southern California beauty. Raised in Orange County, and born on August 11th, she’s the youngest of two children, and has been active in everything from cheerleading to the swim team.  After her mother passed in 1992, she was inspired to sing and honed her craft by mimicing the singing styles of various artists . Having taken ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern dance, Heather found her niche in go-go dancing. At the age of 18, she moved out and began travelling for work and has been to almost every state in the U.S. Not only can Heather heat things up physically, with her sexy photos.  She began modeling at 18 and has worked with a long list of photographers and companies, including import show, and movies.  Places you may have seen Heather are websites, magazines, music videos, gogo dancing or on TV shows. She loves what she does and believes she is good at her “job”.

The Dark Knight Rises Trailer.

There have been quite a few epic, and captivating franchises in my lifetime.  Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Matrix Trilogy, The Step Up franchise (JUST KIDDING).  But the new Batman series however, is no joke.  The new trailer premiered before The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2, and had tons of people talking.  The new trailer features shots of Commissioner Gordon a bit beat up, and talking to Bruce Wayne, as well as a shot of The Dark Knight himself getting WORKED by Bane (above).  To see the new trailer, go to the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ website by clicking here.

Outlaws And Preachers / b.Funk

It’s no surprise that I’m surrounded by rappers and producers every time I go to work. But when someone asked m recently what I was doing at an indie rock show the other day, I realized it was time to let people know that I’m knee deep in all different types of music.

Outlaws and Preachers

At the show the other night I was blessed to be checking out music from the group Outlaws and Preachers.  They have a ridiculously hyped vibe on stage without falling into the trap that so many other bands land in, (just being a bunch of dudes screaming on stage)  On top of introspective lyrics, and diverse subject matter, all of the Outlaws and Preachers songs have a unique style to them, making any performance they have appealing to almost every different type of listener.  If you want to hear some what they have, you need only click here.

The west coast isn’t the only place where I get down with the band scene.  Back on my home coast, the East is being rocked by the sounds of b.Funk.  When the group’s lead vocalist is emcee B.C. you can expect a mellifluous blend of all different types of musical styles.  Having performed with B.C. in Pennsylvania a few months back, I can tell you that the stage is always dripping with energy, and the fans are never disappointed.  b.Funk recently released a new track entitled  The Underdogs, click the pic to check out the new track, and stay tuned for more news about b.Funk very soon.

Brand New Drake Interview.

Drake did a (pre NBA finals), interview with ‘Headkrack’ about his sophomore album set to drop soon.  In the interview he discussed the new sound of his album, the direction its going, and what his inspirations are musically.  At on point of the interview, he did give his predictions about the now concluded NBA playoffs, and although he may have been wrong about LeBron getting his ring… the interview itself is still very much worth a watch.  Check the method below.

Alvaro Tapia Hildago’s Society 6 Illustrations.

Illustration is one of my hidden passions.  I love seeing the works and creations from people all around the world, and what they can come up with conceptually.  Alvaro Hildago’s illustrations are no exception.  His pieces are eerie, yet mesmerizing, and all have a unique stylized look that I just can’t ignore. And if any of his super sick illustrations strike you as intriguing, you can order them here.

Kendick Lamar’s Studio Footage With Pharrell.

Kendrick Lamar is on the rise in the mainstream Hip Hop community.  That’s no suprise.  But what I did find a bit surprising was the collab he’s working on with veteran Pharrell Williams.  Check out some of their studio footage in the video below.

Download Lil Wayne’s ‘Sorry 4 The Wait’ Mixtape.

Click the pic to download the mixtape.

Mixtapes are an excellent avenue for an artist to make the music that they want to make, instead of staying under the constraints of a record label.  But Lil Wayne takes mixtapes to a whole different level.  “No Ceilings” was a monster hit all around the country, and still has tracks in rotation all over radio stations and the web.  “Sorry 4 The Wait” is Wayne’s way of apologizing for the constant pushes on the release of The Carter 4, and I know the world is dying to hear what he has to say.  Click the pic to download the mixtape.

The ASUS-Automobili Lamborghini VX7.

The ASUS-Automobili Lamborghini VX7 has come speeding onto the UK market.  Fans of the iconic Italian brand, especially those who can’t afford the cars’ million-dollar price tags, can bring a piece of grand touring tradition into their office.  The laptop offers a distinctive outer-casing design, a 15.6″ display, dual 750GB hard drives and quad-core 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processors and is the world’s first laptop with dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M graphics.  “The VX7 stays faithful to its Automobili Lamborghini pedigree with sheer performance for gaming, multimedia, online entertainment and productivity.

What’s more, in two directly licensed colors and with exquisite style in detailed design finishes, it perfectly reflects the panache of the Lamborghini’s iconic image”.  The laptop is priced at £1,999 (€2265) and is available now from Anvika or Amazon.  For those of you wanting something a little more portable, Asus makes a Lamborghini VX6 laptop with a 12.1″ display.

Aaron “Jaws” Homoki’s World Record Ollie.

I’ve seen quite a few impressive skate moves, both on video and in person, but Aaron “Jaws” Homoki kinda blew my mind by landing the longest ollie ever.  Check the method below.

Nicki Minaj on E.

Last night, (unbeknownst to me) there was a special playing about Nicki Minaj, and her life both before and during stardom.  The program on E featured testimony from Nicki’s mother, father, and everyone down to her 5th grade teacher and Lil Tunchi himself.  To be 100% honest, I’m not sure how long these video’s will exist on YouTube, but if the links fail, I’ll do my best to replace them.  But before that happens, check out the E tv story on Nicki Minaj.

A Cycle Powered By Screwdrivers?

Excentricity is defined as a deviation from what is ordinary or customary. To match this definition we couln´t just modify an existing vehicle but had to start designing something new from scratch. The result is a completely new driving concept: The driver lies headlong on his three-wheeled vehicle and accelerates the “EX” with sprawled out arms up to 30 km/h. Eccentrically is also how the steering works: A specially developed joint tilts the back wheel and leans the driver´s weight dynamically into the curve.  The vehicle was built and designed in cooperation with Sebastian Auray, Ruben Faber and Ludolf von Oldershausen.

The driver controls the vehicle with brake and gas handles and by tilting the back wheel with its body.  The headlong position gives you an exiting driving experience.  Both screwdrivers run in the same direction to get the maximum power out of them.  To avoid one screwdriver blocking the other, overrunning clutch gearwheels are used to transmit the torque. Steering with the spine-shaped joint is very different from holding a steering wheel or handle bar. You have to use your whole body to tilt and bend the vehicle.  After going through numerous tests and models, the joint´s individual parts were CNC milled.  Modified bicyle parts are used for most of the drive components.  Instead of hiding all mechanical parts under a bodywork everything is left uncovered to show how the vehicle works:  A skeleton with its organs was the inspiration for this design.

Rodney Mullen: Like A Boss.

Skateboarding has been around for quite some time.  Thats no mystery.  But just how good some pro skaters were back in the day is something I never thought of until I peeped this video from Rodney Mullen circa 1984.  Forget his ridiculously high shorts, look past his giraffe-neck-length socks, and peer not into pseudo bowl cut… Regardless of the old school nature of the video, Mullen still does his thing… Like a BOSS.

Loopy Dave Illustrations.

Simply put, Loopy Dave is the sh*t.  All his work is pretty rad, reminds me a lot of Serge Birault’s work (Dave even makes little homages to Serge in his work), and Dave’s work is absolutely full of detail, an that’s exactly what caught my attention. People, look out for hands, muscles, feet (man, the feet are just amazing), girl’s ribs (this one just amazing), fabric and lighting. That said, you may just go ahead and appreciate his work. Don’t forget to check out his portfolio for much more great pieces.

A Rap Freestyle Battle Translated.

I’ve been involved in some pretty ridiculous conversations in the past, but one of the best in recent memory was trying to explain to someone what the point of freestyle battling was.  My friends and I tried to explain to a colleague that the art of matching wits with a competitor intellectually was something that other cultures have done for years.  The killer was that we found a skit on Funny or Die of what a Rap Battle might sound like if were translated for the general public.  Regardless of the tags on the video, the original battle is between Dose and Math Hoffa from S.M.A.C.K. DVD.  But the translated version is hilarious none the less.

Absolut: Blank.

After I put up the Absolut SF post, tons of people have been asking me about other Absolut collabs, and I haven’t been able to answer any questions…. Until now.  The Absolut Art Collection Tour is about to make its final stop in Shanghai after touring across Asia Pacific over the past few months.  The Absolut Art Collection, a celebration of art, creativity and popular culture, includes works by Andy Warhol, Francesco Clemente, Rosemarie Trockel, Béatrice Cussol and Angus Fairhurst, to name a few.  This will be the last chance to see the collection before it returns to Sweden. The exhibition will run from July 14th to 30th in Longmen Art Projects Shanghai.  To end the tour, the Shanghai exhibition will unveil the ABSOLUT BLANK campaign, a global creative movement that encourages artists and fans to create unique artwork from the “blank”.

Here, Absolut boldly turned its iconic bottle into a blank canvas to inspire artists throughout the world to collaborate and fill it with creativity.  Absolut brought together artists from a variety of disciplines and watched the journey from pure white canvas to exceptional pieces of art.  The Shanghai exhibition will feature the ABSOLUT BLANK collaboration between rising Chinese artist, Lu Xinjian and the multi-talented Musician/Producer, B6.  The two teamed up to create the “ABSOLUTELY A-MAZED” installation from just a blank map of Shanghai’s city streets.

The combination of both artists unique styles and inspiration from the ABSOLUT BLANK concept led to the creation of an artwork filled with colour, structure and sound that captures the inimitable energy of Shanghai.  A series of activities will be held throughout the exhibition period under the theme “It all starts with an ABSOLUT BLANK” including workshops led by artist Mr. Lu and Musician/Producer B6, where art students and ABSOLUT fans will have the opportunity to create art and music scratch.

Big Sean’s On Tour Video Blog.

Big Sean has been doing his thing for a while, and with the release of “Finally Famous” has for sure had a few songs on constant repeat on my phone.  But since the release of his freshman album, he’s been doing quite a bit.  Check the method below.

Adriana Lima for Blumarine Fall 2011 Campaign.

Adriana Lima, who has fronted Victoria’s Secret as well as Givenchy ads, has landed a new gig right in between both brands for the sexy yet high-fashion Blumarine.  For fall/winter 2011/12, Italian designer Anna Molinari’s fashion label revisits earlier campaigns: Lima already starred in its ads back in 1997.  Shot by Michelangelo di Battista in Paris, the new images show Blumarine’s trend-conscious fall/winter collection, with Lima modeling everything from color block to animal print and lace.
