They are on the top of the influence pyramid. Their new languages and behaviors are inspirational to people that are both younger and older than them. But the incredible power of today’s youth is directly related to those who came before them.
Kendrick Lamar dropped his debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d. city. The young rapper celebrated the release in his hometown of Los Angeles and stopped by Power 106′s studios to spit a freestyle for “Big Boy’s Neighborhood.” The flow ends up lasting five minutes, and in that time he raps about fucking your mom without a condom, The Lakers, and living in Compton (among other topics).
Young Versace has unveiled its new advertising campaign with supermodel Cindy Crawford’s 10-year-old daughter Kaia Gerber as the face. Modeling designs adorned with the label’s iconic Greek key motif, Gerber was shot by acclaimed fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. According to the fashion house’s creative director Donatella Versace, Gerber proved she has inherited her famous mother’s talent when modeling the collection. “Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift,” she explained in a release. “The camera really, really loves her.

Child exploitation is always something I’ve been apposed to. It takes a person time and experience to be good at what they do. Although it takes 1,000 hours to be an expert at your craft, some people seem to skip ahead. One of my best friends showed me a video the other day of a rapper named Lil Niqo. I was shocked to find out that the “Lil” in Lil Nio was nothing short of the understatement of the year. Children have incredible imaginations. By best friend’s daughter Kayla has said some the wildest thing ever in life, and some of the pictures she’s shown me from school are… bewildering. Butwhat would a child’s drawing look like if it were painted realistically? The Monster Engine takes children’s drawings and paints them realistically. She’s definitely someone I wouldn’t mind popping out of my suitcase during a long trip.
