Wiz Khalifa’s video blog series “DayToday” follows the young rapper through his entertianment exploits. With dozens of episodes already out, the first one that caught my eye was “While You Were Sleeping”. This video follows Wiz in the studio with Pharrell Williams and a few others (including Tyler The Creator). Check out a little of what it’s like to be Wiz.
Many people both inside and outside of the Hip Hop community have their opinions about video girls/video models. But one thing is for sure, when someone who’s initially hired for being a pretty face, turns their opportunity into a career, its something to be commended. Amber Rose was most noted for dating Kanye West (and subsequently Wiz Khalifa) recently teamed up with Smirnoff Vodka to produce a series of TV spots. The first ad got people talking, and the second was released on Christmas, but hasn’t yet showed up on the web. Check the first ad out below.
While drawing out the logistics on a new music project I’m taking on this holiday season, I was searching the web for some nice live covers of popular Hip Hop songs, and I came across “YoungPianoTV”. A young kid name Lucas who seems to be able to restructure any beat (and even lyrical notes) on his piano. Exhibiting a great ear for the composition of a song, all his covers are spot on recreations of the tracks he’s emulating. I definitely recommend taking a look at his expansive library of Top 40′s covers, and don’t forget to hit his facebook page. Props to you Lucas.
Former Auto-Tune maestro T-Pain returns with a mid-tempo groove and wanders the streets alone in the music video for “5 O’clock,” the first single off his upcoming album “RevolveR” which features Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen. The video features an emotional T-Pain strolling the late night streets solo, looking like he’s about to cry, and struggling to get in contact with his music video girlfriend/booty call, Lily Allen. Allen herself looks distraught and worried about her R&B boo, texting T-Pain and glumly singing her sampled vocals as she waits on her love. Khalifa makes a guest appearance, with a confident, sexual verse that shows no qualms about showing up at your girlfriend’s place at 5 AM.
Its no mystery that Hip Hop has spread all over the globe, but it seems that all caliber of musicians have been flocking to the UK for some of their biggest performances. Wiz Khalifa has now joined the ranks of professionals to blow up the stage in London, England. Check some live footage of his performance below. (If this video ceases to work, PLEASE comment and let me know so I can update it. YouTube has been somewhat flaky lately.)
Rolling Stone Magazine has always been one of those publication that has such a reputation that if you’re on the cover, you’ve made it. Unfortunately Snookie from ‘Jersey Shore’ graced the cover a not too long ago, (I’m not sure why they did that, but I don’t run the publication), and all though I feel like they messed up with Snooki, Wiz Khalifa donning the new Rolling Stone cover makes up for it. Behind the scenes shots of Wiz rolling weed, with his new blond streak were all filmed during the cover shoot. Check the exclusive look at the photoshoot from Rolling Stone below.
On the way to my campus, I got a first look at the video for Snoop and Wiz’s video for ‘That Good’. I’ve always loved the song, and was impressed by the music video, so I had to throw it up. Before the video though, I also ran into some folks on the train that asked me why I hadn’t blogged in an alarming two days, lol. I just want to make it clear to all my readers, that I try to post 5 or 6 times a day, but at the end of the day, I’m still just a college student as busy as everyone else, so my apologies if every so often I go a day or two without posting. But moving right along, check the video for “That Good” below.
