Blackbird Mercedes | Tron

This is a design exercise that pays homage to Mercedes-Benz’s racing history. The streamlined body is supposed to evoke airplanes, speed and movement. Designer Peter Vardai’s goal was to create a plan that reinforces the emotions toward Mercedes and refers the the brand’s tradition and future. His concept consisted of the feeling for speed and freedom. He wanted to represent the speed and motion in on subject by basing this project on an airplane’s dinamic and streamlined shape [while having a Tron like future feel to it]. The black and silver are strongly connected to the branding, while the sporty shape refers to the Mercede’s success in auto racing.

Ksubi Cisco Silver and Black Leather Shades.


This classic aviator shape is given a modern militaristic feel through several well structured details, blending steal, leather, and acetate into a single standout frame. The Cisco has side shields with luxury leather detailing to help keep out the sun or wind, luxury leather detailing at the bridge, and grated metal detailing at the temples. While this may seem quite complex, it is actually quite simple on the face, the mark of great execution. It presents just the right balance of hard versus soft elements and simplicity in the overall shape, to create a technical but very wearable frame which works well on most faces.

The De Bethune Dream Watch IV iPhone Case.


De Bethune has released the Dream Watch IV, an iPhone 4S case that features a mechanical clock as well as protection for your phone… and your brain.  Clearly inspired by the unique piece made for Only Watch 2011 (below), the pocket watch face is made from blued titanium with gold and diamond stars.  The Dream Watch IV also provides electromagnetic protection for the user by reducing the physiological impact of its potentially damaging waves.

The Dream Watch IV follows De Bethune’s launch of the DBM (pictured below), a crocodile cell phone case fitted with a traditional two-hand timepiece.  Limited to just 12 pieces, the Dream Watch IV will be officially unveiled at the De Bethune exhibition to be held in Geneva from January 15-20, 2012, during the SIHH.
