Two of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer just got brand new trailers (on the same day). With shots of Kirk apologizing to his entire crew for pretty much getting them on the endangered species list, some interesting new views of Krypton, Pike giving Kirk some fatherly advice, and Kal El beating the crap out of Zod, both trailers are a must watch. Check them out.
“Man Of Steel” is one of Warner Brothers’ biggest 2013 releases, so it goes to reason that a new trailer for the film will come attached to prints of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” (Not that you need to enter Middle-earth to see the latest teaser.) Directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan, “Man of Steel” recalls the oft-recounted origin story for Superman. As the first teasers hinted at, however, this isn’t necessarily your pa’s Man of Steel: Snyder’s film appears to have the earthy look of a Terrence Malick feature mixed with the gravitas of Nolan’s well-regarded Batman trilogy.
When it comes to an overly complicated game show based a simple concept, ‘The Price Is Right’ pretty much sets the bar. But at work on Halloween night, I caught a glimpse of one of the greatest game shows based on a basic idea that blew my mind. The show ‘Total Blackout’ prey’s on people’s fear of the dark, and does more damage to it than SF Giants fans. ALTHOUGH the video below says Wednesdays, the show now comes on at 10 P.M. on Tuesdays, take a look at the SyFy original series below… I’m signing my assistant and I up for an episode right now.
Following its debut during the season premiere of “America’s Got Talent,” Sony Pictures has now brought online the 4-Minute Super Preview for The Amazing Spider-Man which you can watch below. The trailer features a bridge scene from the movie that’s in all honesty pretty bad-ass, (and even shows how Parker deals with children with no concept of saving their own lives.) HOWEVER, if you don’t want to spoil what I’m sure is an incredible scene in the movie, I suggest you skip this one.
Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Academy Award winning director Martin Scorsese has announced he will produce Silver Ghost, a film that chronicles the lives of the names behind the formation of Rolls-Royce. Silver Ghost will tell the story of motoring pioneer Lord John Douglas-Scott Montagu, his wife Cis and his secret love affair with his secretary and mistress, Eleanor Velasco Thornton. It also will detail Montagu’s connection and friendships with Rolls-Royce founders Charles Rolls and Henry Royce and British artist and sculptor Charles Sykes. Thornton was the inspiration for the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, designed by Sykes, that to this day adorns all Rolls-Royce cars. “When I read the story of ‘Silver Ghost’, I was mesmerised,” Scorsese said. “I immediately thought this is a picture that has to be made. I didn’t hesitate for a moment.” The script has been penned by Kiera Knightley’s mum, Sharman Macdonald and Christian Bale is rumored to be in line to take a starring role in the film as Lord Montagu.
“Considering how long this has been in development, and the number of similar projects that have fallen by the wayside including a mooted Paul Greengrass directed biopic, and a fictional road trip style movie, we figured the Andre 3000 starring Jimi Hendrix movie was not going to happen. Hell, even as far back as 2008 the actor/rapper himself said, “The funny thing with the biopics [is their uncertainty], I mean, it’s the same thing with ‘Hendrix.’ It’s kinda like, until you are on set doing it you can’t say what’s going on, because everybody wants to do the movie, but there are so many things that go into a biopic.” Well, it looks like the movie is actually going ahead.
Titled “All Is By My Side,” the film is gearing up start lensing in three weeks in Ireland, with a six week production schedule mapped out. John Ridley, the writer behind “Three Kings,” “U-Turn” and the forthcoming “Twelve Years A Slave” has penned the script and will be directing as well, making his sophomore feature effort following 1997′s “Cold Around The Heart.” The film will essentially cover Hendrix’s breakthrough period from 1966 to 1967, when he was discovered in a New York club by Linda Keith, a model and girlfriend of Keith Richards at the time, who introduced him to The Rolling Stones’ manager Andrew Loog Oldham and producer Seymour Stein (who both declined to work with him), and eventually to manager/producer Chas Chandler who helped launch his career. He went to London, recorded Are You Experienced? and the rest, as they say, is history.
No word yet on the rest of the cast, but last summer, Hayley Atwell revealed she was eyeing a role but nothing has been heard since. The big question here is if the film will have rights to the songs, licensing of which tends to be expensive and difficult to come by. But we presume if cameras are set to be rolling, some kind of approval on the film has come down from the musicians’s estate, Experience Hendrix. Either way, we’re curious as hell to see how all this winds up turning out. Are You Experienced? is a fairly defining moment in rock ‘n roll history, and Hendrix is one of the titans, so let’s hope it gets the treatment it deserves.”
Above are two pics from the ‘Stop Trippin’ video, (the bottom being a quick shot of my assistant Ashley F. and I). Bay Area emcee Jay Cee and R.O.D. teamed up recently with Clayton William to create the track ‘Stop Trippin’. The song circles around the very relatable situation of having your significant other not realizing the sacrifices necessary to stay afloat in the entertainment industry… hence the title. I’m quite excited to see the final result of the video, but for now, check out the trailer, and the making of the track before that.
So, first up on my movie list is one that I found by chance, my assistant and I were scrolling through movie posters, and she saw one with a teddy bear in it. That was probably the second best example of childish tendencies leading to a great find, the best example would be the plot of the movie itself. Seth McFarlane has cooked up a magical script that is sure to be absolutely hilarious in the movie ‘Ted’. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot, but the official synopsis is below. I would suggest just clicking the picture to watch the trailer and be surprised by the unique concept of the movie.
Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish…and has refused to leave his side ever since.

I posted a little about “Looper” not too long ago, and I had a few people tell me that I was so interested in the movie because of my proximity to someone who worked on the movie. But once again, I have to say that this isn’t true, even if I had no idea about how good this movie is already, I’d still be massively intrigued by the premise alone. Take a look at the official synopsis below, and click the picture above to watch the newly debuted trailer.
In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.

As a DJ, this movie hits quite close to home. Not only was I brought up with Hip Hop all around me, but I was always told by my father that “rap isn’t real music”. Ice-T’s directorial debut goes to show the true essence of Hip Hop and proves to those doubters that this is an art form that is here to stay. It has grown, shifted, evolved, and shaped the course of culture forever. I’m a fan of the concept not only because of my place in the music business, but the fact that I’ve worked with several of the people in the film also peaks my interest in the movie. Click the pic above to watch the trailer.
Ice-T takes us on an intimate journey into the heart and soul of hip-hop with the legends of rap music. This performance documentary goes beyond the stardom and the bling to explore what goes on inside the minds, and erupts from the lips, of the grandmasters of rap. Recognized as the godfather of Gangsta rap, Ice-T is granted unparalleled access to the personal lives of the masters of this artform that he credits for saving his life. Interspersed with the performers’ insightful, touching, and often funny revelations are classic raps, freestyle rhymes, and never before heard a cappellas straight from the mouths of the creators. What emerges is a better understanding of, and a tribute to, an original American art form that brought poetry to a new generation.
Comic books have been a staple in pop-culture for generations. Some of the more iconic super heroes have even become idolized by celebrities and fans alike. Shaq has an obsession with Superman, (and eve I’ve been consumed by the character of Tony Stark as well) but no matter who makes a fuss about their favorite heroes, the artwork that brought those heroes to life is what solidifies them in our minds. Check out 30 examples of the greatest comic book to be published.
Total Recall has been a cult classic film for quite some time… I would venture to say “for generations” but that’s not the case. The original ‘Total Recall’ only came out in 1990, which begs the question as to why the powers that be felt the need to re-make it. The visual effects revolutions that have taken place between the 1933 “King Kong” movie and the the one released in 2005 are massive, but that’s not really an excuse in the way of “Total Recall”. However, before someone brings up the point that the Spiderman franchise didn’t even wait for a 6th grader to graduate high school before they re-booted Mr. Parker, lets just remember that there was nothing wrong with T.R. In Arnold Schwarzenegger’s version, the plot circles around a virtual vacation on Mars and the implications of things being too real in virtual reality, but you can read the official synopsis of the 2012 version below.
Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.
At the annual Nickelodeon upfront presentation recently, über-producer Michael Bay revealed details for Platinum Dunes’ upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, including a new origin story for the half-shell heroes that is sure to raise the ire of diehard fans.
“When you see this movie, kids are going to believe one day these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie,” said Bay as he took the stage to discuss his new vision for the reptilian reboot. “These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable.”
In the original mythology, four baby turtles fall into the sewer and come into contact with glowing radioactive ooze, which mutates them into four bad-ass warriors trained in ninjutsu by astute rodent Splinter. But could the rewriting of the Turtles’ origin story dissuade some fans from embracing the newest incarnation? A comic book-to-movie adaptation’s worst nightmare is bad pre-publicity, and Bay may have generated that in about 30 words.
On the flip side, it might seem outrageous to non-fans of the series that Teenage Mutant Ninja purists are offended by the new mythos of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. Truth, we might sound a wee bit ridiculous when we cry out, “I can’t believe Bay says they’re aliens when they’re obviously derived from radioactive slime!” But Bay is essentially erasing almost 30 years of love for transmogrified adolescent reptile ninjas by claiming each turtle is less of a fearsome, fighting toxic anomaly and more of a forest green E.T. with nunchucks. What would Shredder think!?
PopWatchers, how does this new origin story make you feel? Are you a purist for the original backstory, or will you embrace Bay’s vision? And who would you cast for this live-action TMNT reboot? Personally, I think Splinter’s a toss-up between Morgan Freeman and Kate Upton.
With The Dark Knight Rises one of the most anticipated films of the summer, CraveOnline decided to make Batman the focus of their latest Movie Marathoners, tackling eight different Bat-films back to back. Beginning with 1966′s Batman: The Movie, an audience of over 30 made their way through Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, Batman Returns, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Batman Begins and, finally, The Dark Knight. Take a look at the rating at the end of the video and see if you agree.

Consider the competition slate for the Cannes Film Festival officially scrambled. Or, you know, maybe not: on Thursday, Warner Brothers announced that it was preparing a third installment in the “Hangover” series, its bawdy, billion-dollar grossing comedy franchise about three friends whose travels invariably result in collective memory loss followed by farcical efforts to retrace their troublemaking steps.
Warner Brothers said in a news release that the series stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis would reprise their roles as the three friends, Phil, Stu and Alan, in “The Hangover Part III,” which is planned for release on May 24, 2013. Todd Phillips, who directed the two previous films, is once again on board as director. He will also produce “Part III” and write the script with Craig Mazin, his screenwriting collaborator on “Part II.”
The original “Hangover,” released in 2009, set its characters loose on Las Vegas and sold more than $467 million in tickets worldwide. The 2011 sequel, set in Bangkok, was even more lucrative and grossed a further $581 million globally, but took lumps from critics who called it a retread of the first film.
No setting or plot description for “Part III” was immediately offered, but Mr. Phillips said in a statement: “We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”
It was about 3 in the morning yesterday, when I saw the last few seconds of a trailer that intrigued me. All I heard was “This time it WAS the black guy!” which was proceeded by kids seeming to push things around with their minds. Although it wasn’t too far from “I Am Number 7″ and even “X-Men”, it still seemd like an interesting concept. Read the official synopsis below, and click the pic above to watch the trailer.
Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. Even as they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control because their darker sides begin to take over.

As an avid movie-goer, I have to admit that I participated quite a bit in the madness of this opening weekend. With ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows’, and ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ both being released with different tastes of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ before each, tons of people were out trying to soak up a sneak peek. Luckily for anyone who didn’t pay $11.50 to see Sherlock just for Bruce Wayne, or those who held off paying $18.50 to see a 6 minute look at Bane… some DKR stuff just popped up on iTunes. The second trailer was released earlier today, and when my phone blew up with emails about it, I knew I had to share.
Counting down the days until ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ prologue hits theaters on Dec. 16? Now you can also plan your route to the nearest IMAX theater, where the six-minute-opening will play in front of showings of ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.’ Warner Bros. has just released the list of the 42 IMAX theaters in the U.S. and Canada where you can see the prologue that introduces villain Bane (Tom Hardy). It was shot in IMAX, as are several key scenes in ‘Ghost Protocol.’ Will it be at an IMAX theater near you? The complete list is ahead.

Young Jeezy has been on and off the front pages of Hip Hop magazines for the better part of a decade now, but not too many people know his story. With his newest studio album release TM:103 in stores December 20th, the Snowman is release a documentary titled “A Hustlers Ambition”. Check out one of the 5 trailers below. (and YES, Samuel L. Jackson is narrating).
Tip Harris has been a well known face in the Hip Hop community for many a year, but some of the decisions he’s made in his personal life since his entrance into the spot light have been a bit… odd. Weather you’ve been waiting for it since it was announced, or never cared enough to remember hearing about it, T.I.’s reality show has almost reached the airwaves. VH1 released a preview recently about the man, the mogul, and the myths that surround his mind-state. Check the method below.
Anyone who grew up with a TV in the late 80′s and early 90′s knows about ’21 Jump Street’. A massively popular show, it was one of the pieces of work that helped start Johnny Depp’s career. The show centered around a team of youthful looking police officers that investigated crimes in high school and college. As is the usual in Hollywood, a movie reboot was a must, but instead of totally destroying the legacy of the show (like Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky and Hutch… the list goes on) I personally feel like this remake might just be worth watching. Click the pic above to watch the trailer, and look below for the official synopsis.
In the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. But they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier – and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind.

Project X came to my attention randomly when I was just scouting for movie previews to throw online, but since the first time I watched it, I was thoroughly impressed. This seems like a truly epic, unforgettable and jaw dropping flick. I haven’t listed any plot details on purpose, and I won’t post the synopsis for this one, you’ll just have to watch it to see what all the excitement is about.
