Following GM’s publicity stunt, which dropped a 2012 Chevy Sonic out of a plane, MTV-reality and action sports-star Rob Dyrdek recently performed a kick flip in the Chevy Sonic. For those of us that didn’t grow up riding skateboards, a kick flip is a 360-degree rotation in mid-air. “A kick flip with a Chevy Sonic was a no-brainer,” said Dyrdek. “I am a Chevy guy from my ’69 Camaro to the Tahoe I drive every day. The Sonic’s power and sportiness made it the perfect vehicle for this awesome stunt.”
The stunt was performed at Six Flags Magic Mountain, while MTV filmed the feat for the Season 5 premiere of Fantasy Factory. Dyrdek executed the kick flip over the world’s-largest skateboard that he created for a previous stunt.

99% of the time I travel, it’s either for business or for vacation. Rarely do I ever mix a trip up with a bit of both, but my recent voyage to Miami was just that. My assistant and I stayed up the entire night before to leave at 3 in the morning, jumped on our plane before the sun came up, made a short trip to Texas, and got into MIA before night fall. Immediately the next morning we got up and started drinking before grabbing some food at the beach and getting down to business. Most of our days were like that until our last, where some friends and one of my cousins linked up and took an interesting, and very relaxing trip on a private boat around some of the water ways of Miami.

Aside from a few dolphins that were chilling by our boat, some of the highlights of that morning were some of the sights around Star Island. We peeped out one of Diddy’s cribs, saw one of the original MTV Cribs houses, and even swung by a MONSTER boat owned by the prince of some Arab nation… and his “shadow boat” that was equally as big, required 30 crew to operate, only carried his cars, smaller boats, and other various toys, and who’s sole purpose was to follow his main boat around just in case he needed some extra entertainment. (Baller). I took some pics of a couple of other attractions. Check the method below.
And once again, an infinite thank you to Kamekia, Danny, B, Ash, and Jay.

Everyone remembers the old flip books you’d try and make during a boring class in middle school. Well apparently the marketing folks over at good old MTV Brazil have decided to ‘fill’ the idea with an interesting air. The video below is an ad that consists of hundreds of balloons set up in a line, each with a slightly different illustration on it. They simply moved the camera forward, which caused the balloon in front to pop, and reveal the next in line. An incredibly strenuous illustration process I’m sure, but an incredible effect at the end. Check the method below.
The guys over at Gucci have hired Frank Miller (Sin City, 300, The Spirit) to helm a new television commercial to promote Gucci Guilty — apparently the new fragrance for her. The Frank Miller spot stars Chris Evans of the Fantastic Four films and Evan Rachel Wood from HBO’s True Blood with music provided by Friendly Fires. This is just a tease but the Frank Miller aesthetic, seen onscreen in “Sin City” and “Spirit,” is on full display here.
Busta Rhymes Discusses Lil Wayne’s Negative Remarks About New York.
“Everybody’s entitled to their opinion,” NY native Busta said Wednesday on Hot 97 personality Angie Martinez’s afternoon show to promote his new free LP Year of the Dragon. In fact, Busa Bus has similar feelings toward El Paso, Texas, after he and his entourage were arrested after performing there several years back. “It don’t mean I don’t like the people there, it don’t mean I don’t like my support, my love, but I don’t like El Paso,” the Dungeon Dragon stated, making his point very clear. “My experience in El Paso makes me not like it. I haven’t done another show there since.” As far as his buddy Weezy, Busta understands why he’s down on the Big Apple. On Monday, MTV News asked Wayne how it felt to perform in New York on August 14 with Nicki Minaj.
“You know, flat out: I don’t like New York,” Weezy said before saying he had an “awesome” time on stage with Nicki. State Senator Malcolm A. Smith of Queens was “angry,” “taken aback” and “shocked” by Lil Wayne’s contempt for his beloved city, according to The New York Times, so much so that he organized a conference in Father Duffy Square, between West 46th and West 47th Streets, on Wednesday to demand an apology. “If you don’t like New York,” Smith said, according to the NY Times, “you don’t have to come to New York. You don’t have to sell your products here. And perhaps we won’t come to your concerts.”
