Leonid Tishkov’s Private Moon

If you think this is a series of unearthly photo-manipulations, then you’re wrong. Moscow-based physician Leonid Tishkov is actually traveling the world with his own personal moon. The artist created the moon 10 years ago for a contemporary art performance, after which he took it back to his apartment and eventually started traveling around the world.

“I have traveled Private Moon for ten years and each time the moon reveals more space to me. The moon is a shining point that brings people together from different countries, of different nationalities and cultures,” – says Leonid.

Gorki House in Moscow


Gorki House was designed by Atrium and is integrated in a beautiful natural environment atop of a hill west of Moscow. The architects were commissioned to design a contemporary residence for a young couple and their kid, while maintaining a good relationship with the surrounding pine forest landscape. The building features generous windows and a large number of terraces which make it connect well with the outdoors. Its shape is highly original, consisting of a clever and appealing game of volumes which seem to gradually unfold. According to Arch Daily, the interior design follows the “patterns” of the exterior, as “public zones flow into private areas and vice-versa”. The rooms are airy and spacious, featuring contemporary furniture arrangements and inspiring decorative details.

The World Wide Watch.


Sure, it’s a middle class problem but ever get annoyed by having to change the time on your watch when you enter a new country?  It might not be an issue that afflicts those of us who don’t go travelling that often but this ingenious watch is still perfect for those who wish that they did.  The “All Around the World” watch boasts eight hour hands, which resemble landmarks in major cities. For example, if you’re in New York then you’d use the Statue of Liberty as your hour marker. Minutes are always marked by a pigeon. You know, because they’re a given in every city.
