Mobiado and Aston Martin Show Transparent Droid Phone Concept

gsmarena_001

Mobiado, the luxury phone maker, and Aston Martin, the luxury car maker, are in cahoots, trying to co-create phones. The first prototype they’ve shown is a stunning transparent Android phone. The Mobiado concept phone is called CTP002 is basically one big, transparent sapphire glass with two titanium edges on the left and right. The glass is a color capacitive touchscreen. We know it’s only a concept and from a technical standpoint it seems all but impossible, but the Mobiado CTP002 is a joy to behold. The phone will connect with the car and its display. The car display will show a map with all local venues and your friends from Foursquare. The cameras integrated into the car can be set to snap a photo periodically and post it on Facebook or Twitter and the CTP002′s accelerometer will track the drivers body in case of a collision, giving the car’s airbags better information on how to react. The Mobiado CTP002 concept will be shown off at BaselWorld, the world watch and jewelry show in Switzerland this year.

Grand Touch Executive – Marble Phone

If you thought gold-plated or diamond-studded phones were the last word in mobile style, then think again, as a Canadian company has just announced a new mobile device which is made from a “stone hybrid material” and sapphire crystals. Produced by luxury mobile design company Mobiado, based in Canada, the Grand Touch Executive was released on October 30. The phone has been some two years in the making after an early prototype, the CPT001 — which was crafted from a solid block of marble — first started doing the rounds on the tech blogs in 2010. The body of the phone is made from “hybrid stone material” while the back panel and buttons are made from “sapphire crystal.” The phone is available in a range of hybrid stone materials including granite and marble.  In terms of specs, the unlocked phone is fairly low/mid range, boasting a 5 MP camera, a 4.65 inch S-AMOLED touch screen, 16GB of storage and common smartphone features such as Bluetooth/WiFi capabilities. No pricing details are available on the Grand Touch Executive, but don’t expect to see it in shops anytime soon: Mobiado’s luxury phones are typically seen at very exclusive events and trade shows to which the general public is not invited.

The Grand 350 Aston Martin Cell Phone.

After the Mobiado concept phone for Aston Martin, the Canadian luxe phone-maker is finally out with the first phone off the Aston Martin collection.  The Grand 350 Aston Martin body is CNC machined from aircraft specification aluminum, and anodized to produce an elegant hard surface. The frame is then inlayed with sapphire crystal.  The infrared window is made from a solid piece of ruby crystal. The screws are stainless steel or gun metal black stainless steel.  The buttons of the Grand 350 Aston Martin are a dramatic combination of sapphire crystal and stainless steel.  The phone is available in three designer styles; black, black satin, and silver.  The Grand 350 Aston Martin is unlocked, with quad-band GSM/EGSM, 3.5G, HSPDA, and WLAN connectivity.  The phone works within North America, Europe, Africa, Asia- Pacific, and South America where GSM/EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks are available.  It is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera and video camera, integrated GPS, 2.36″ display with up to 16 million colors, Bluetooth and micro USB connectivity, as well as a music and video player with a 2.5mm AV connector.

Aston Martin x Mobiado Cell Phone.

Aston Martins and luxury phones are two of my favorite pointless obsessions in life.  The British luxury car brand Aston Martin and the luxury mobile phone manufacturer Mobiado are collaborating to produce a collection of luxury mobile handsets…  Enough said.  The merging of two of my favorite ridiculous obsessions will keep a smile on my face for the rest of the year.  Synergy between the two brands provides an ideal opportunity for Aston Martin to enter into the electronics sector, with an exclusive range planned to launch in May 2011 through a range of premium outlets.  Peter Bonac, President of Bonac Innovation Corp. said, “Like Aston Martin, Mobiado prides itself on design innovation and technological excellence.  We look forward to a long and prosperous working relationship, and are thrilled to be working with the prestigious Aston Martin brand.”
