Kanye West debuted his new song “New Slaves” through a projection on 66 landmark buildings in 10 cities across North America, Europe, and Australia. The content of the track is in stark contrast from the topics of in industry rappers, and even from Kanye himself. But the message is loud and clear, and could not have been marketed better. Check the method below.
It’s no secret that Nicki Minaj’s “I Am Your Leader” is one of her most racy tracks to date and correspondingly the video for the song which also features Rick Ross and Cam’ron isn’t going to be on the Disney Channel any time soon. The set for the video is a psychedelic, fluorescent-fueled house that looks pretty much exactly the way we’d imagine Minaj’s abode to look like and it sees her hanging in a pink living room before it segues into her pampering herself in a bubble bath as she spits her rhymes — all while dangling her sequined boots over the edge of the tub.
Drake has made it clear that he doesn’t spend much time on social media outlets thanks to the inevitable criticism, but this week the YMCMB rapper really caught heat for his new collaboration with Aaliyah. Amid rumors that her family isn’t supporting the mysterious posthumous album that he’s helming, Drake finally confirmed that the project is official — with the blessing of her family.
Tyrone aka T-RexXx of ‘MuchMusic’ scores an exclusive interview with Drake backstage at OVO Fest and chats about the festival and his upcoming collaboration with the late Aaliyah.
I’m obviously a huge fan of music in general, and music that comes from my home state of New Jersey, I’m especially fond of. Just when we all thought the freestyles on Kirko Bangz popular track were over, Redman comes out of nowhere and drops his own rendition. Guess we can expect a new album soon, and I’m ready to hear it.
Did you think the Chris Brown and Drake drama was finished? Of course it isn’t. Chris Brown hops on Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like,” and drops some lyrical darts at his fellow light-skinned antagonist. Although Breezy makes it clear that he has no problems at all with the other members of YMCMB, he makes it crystal clear his beef is with Drake and it is over Rihanna.
“A f-ck ni**a, that’s that sh-t I don’t like/They throwin’ bottles, I’m throwin’ models just ’cause I give a Itchbay long pipe,” raps Breezy. “I be singin’, he be singin’, so it’s on, fight/ But hold up, I ain’t give a ni**a no green light/ This head up, my bread up, one on one, what you scared, bruh?/ Matter fact, take care bruh, you a pu**y ni**a/ My ni**a Tunechi, yeah that ni**a nice/ Shout out to Nicki, man, that A$$ tight/ Them eyebrows, man, them sh-ts is yikes/ OVO, you overdosed, screamin’ YOLO no, I live twice.”
In my community, the barber shop is normally a place where men go, and engage in conversation about whatever, and over at my boy Q’s place, discussions about the rap game are as common as hair on the floor. Lil Wayne and Pusha T are both miraculous lyricists, but its a well known fact that Lil Wayne doesn’t normally engage in beef. Today however, I got an earfull of Weezy taking a wide open shot at Pusha in a new freestyle above. Below is another new release from Lil Tunchi incase you’re not interested in the beef.

Some folks may have thought that 50 has dropped off of the hip hop radar, but he’s still plugging away in the studio and putting out new material. Check out an interview where he discusses “The Lost Tape” and his plans for its release.
Check out the new video from Swizz Beatz and A$AP Rocky for “Street Knock,” the first release off Swizzy’s upcoming Limitless mixtape. With some clips that look like they came straight from Fast & The Furious and cameos from Allen Iverson, Jadakiss, araabMUZIK, and DJ Cassidy.
Take a listen to one of the singles of Kardinal Offishall’s newest album. This A.M.T.R.I.M. (Allow Me To Re-Introduce Myself) really needs to drop soon. I mean, I know it’s dropping later this month, but it still needs to come out sooner than later.
With more and more female emcees in the game as of late, it’s no surprise that some have a different persona than others. Nicki Minaj can be whimsical, and does the pop thing on the side, The Bobby Effect is hard spitting, and lyrical, but can also whip up a banger of a party track, and artists like Precious Paris just have the gangster roll down to a science. Check out her latest video ‘Everything O.K.’ featuring 50 Cent.
I’ve been a fan of Mr. Roth since before the release of ‘I Love College’, but you can’t always predict what any emcee will decide to do musically. A collaboration between Meek Mill and Asher Roth seems a bit off the scale of possibility, but then again, stranger things have happened. Click below to take a listen to ‘Party Girl’ from Asher Roth ft. Meek Mill.
The track ‘Drank In My Cup’ has been climbing the charts ever since it’s release earlier this year, and many an emcee have jumped on the beat to do their own versions. Fortunately, one voice stands out from the rest of the crowd. Bow Wow’s ‘Drank In My Cup’ freestyle has a dope video, and massive support behind it, making it one of the most seen remixes since the original song. Check the method below.
During my tracking session with DJ Jeff Phantom last night, I stumbled across a song that struck me as kind of odd. Not odd in a bad way, but I just could not let the entire song finish. About half way through T.I.’s verse on Iggy Azalea’s ‘Murda Buziness’, I just kept starting the song from the beginning, over and over again. With a wild beat produced by Bei Maejor, this track found a way to fly to the top of my favorite track list before the first time I even listened to the entire thing. Check the method below.
Kanye West being the center of attention is nothing new to anyone, but with the news of him and Kim K. blew up all over the blogosphere, and a new track surfaced with DJ Khaled. Theraflu is an interesting joint that takes some shots at Kim Kardashian’s ex Kris Humphries, and P.E.T.A. (the anti-animal cruelty folks) for when she got flower bombed. Some of the lines in the second verse are downright awesome, but it all goes to show that once Mr. West falls for a woman, he falls hard.
Every so often, I get bored and decide to make a basic mashup, just to play in my car, or toy around with on my phone when I’m bored. I don’t typically release generic “someone’s lyrics over someone else’s beat” tracks, but when a good friend of mine heard a random mix I finished about a month ago, he wouldn’t stop bugging me till I dropped it. So for your listening pleasure, I’ve assembled a basic mashup of Young Gunz ‘Can’t Stop Won’t Stop’ and ‘Slight Work’ from Wale ft. Big Sean. You can download it here, or just take a listen below.
