Will.I.Am & Britney Spears ft. Authentic – Scream & Shout (Bruno’s Remix)

Scream&ShoutTravCover

One of the Bay Area’s premiere top 40′s radio stations, Wild 94.9 has a very specific version of “2 Reasons” from Trey Songz.  In the 94.9 version, Trey shouts out the entire bay and the radio station, giving him and the station a unique form of credibility.  I personally loved this concept, (and his flow on the altered version of the song) and decided to take a crack at the concept myself.  Authentic the #Rocksta and I have been working together for a few months, and I knew his flow would be a perfect addition to the monster hit from Will.I.Am and Britney Spears.  Check the method below.

Bruno’s, the San Francisco nightclub that Authentic shouts out in the track has hosted me for about half a year now.  The club itself is a wonderful spot with an incredible amount of diversity in the music and with its crowd.  Bruno’s is located on 2389 Mission Street in the city, and features 3 rooms on 2 floors all with different brands of music.  If you ever come to the club on a night when ‘DJ Storm’ is posted on the billboard outside, you’ll be sure to hear Authentic’s version of the track.

Chelsea Workspace.

Many of us know what it’s like to work from home. Distraction upon distraction tends to stunt our productiveness. If only more of us could convince our employers that we can, in fact, stay motivated and actually get work accomplished in the confines of our own home offices.  The design team at Synthesis recently installed Chelsea Workspace that is a custom home office for a private personal investment advisor. Constrained by both budget and space, the design team at Synthesis enwrapped a series of prefabricated CNC milled birch plywood ribs atop all the necessary features any home workspace should include: a desk, sliding and hinged storage units, a printer and paper shredder, concealed paths for wires and cables and  recesses for lighting – thereby eliminating all unnecessary clutter.  One small window emits natural light onto the surfaces where horizontal spacers are arranged in the pattern of a world map, which will allow the owner to map out his travels. The design of the work space presents a viable solution to ensure working from home can be free from distraction, and where focus in an innovative space ensures the highest level of productivity.

Custom Shades For A New Age.

Because most of us wear the same pair every day, we often have a deeper attachment to our sunglasses than other fashion accessories. They’re a really a good indicator of someone’s personality.  That’s why the customizable Crafty glasses are so great- finally, you can create your own design to express your unique individuality.  The material is prepped to take common paint and markers and each side of the lenses are covered with a protective film that can be removed when you’re done.  Get ‘em here.

Animal Hangers.

It’s bad enough when you have to share your clothing with a sibling or roommate, but now the family pet is calling dibs on your best shirt?  Fortunately, these cats, dogs, and one friendly fox are only keeping your garments in place, and they will hand them over just when you need them. The silly, oversized cardboard hangers are topped with a painted animal head and a metal hanging hook. A cat in a Hawaiian shirt, a black lab in a sun dress, a fox in a sports coat? What animal loving hipster could resist?

The Ford EVOS.

The EVOS concept car introduces a new design direction for the global car manufacturer ford.  Debuting at the 2011 frankfurt motor show, the vehicle is an interpretation of a fastback bodystyle design, featuring four gull-wing doors which open to reveal a four-seat layout.  The concept offers a bold red driver’s seat and the vision of unprecedented driver interface.  The two rear seat passengers host dedicated touch-screen displays to interact with the vehicle and individually adjustable sports seats.  The concept’s technology experience embraces a new generation of driver interaction and awareness, in which the seamless connectivity between the vehicle and the driver’s ‘personal cloud’ of information is the heart of the vision for its capabilities.

With information from the cloud, the vehicle is able to provide the same connected lifestyle the driver experiences at home or the office.  The car knows the driver, automatically adapting its handling, steering and engine control to deliver a dynamic driving experience.  Drawing from a detailed understanding of the driver’s preferences and habits, the EVOS concept car combines this personal information with additional data from the could, such as the individual’s work schedule and local traffic or weather conditions. This information provides a personalized and seamless  sophistication as the driver transitions in and out of the car.

The Pipe Chair.

Designers get inspiration from various and sometimes wierd things. For example, the following Pipe Chair was obviously was inspired by a pipe. This creative chair was designed by Russian industrial designer Yaroslav Rassadin. Being a part of Yaroslav’s series of furniture called “Stream”, the Pipe Chair has a form that imitates the classic form of a pipe. It’s coated with soft surfaces and keeping all ergonomic standards. The Pipe Chair hasn’t been produced yet and it’s still a concept.

Mansory Carbonado Lamborghini Aventador‎.

Mansory has reworked the Lamborghini Aventador into a limited production model named the Carbonado, after the black diamonds found in Africa and Brazil.  The Carbonado is coming with a lot of carbon fiber accessories, including new carbon fiber panels applied over its body and over its engine hood.  Interior is given the special leather treatment on the seats and dashboard, a newly designed airbag sports steering wheel made out of real carbon fiber and non-slip aluminum pedals.  Other modifications from the standard supercar include a new high performance exhaust, which with a re-mapped ECU lifts the power output to 743 bhp.  According to the German tuner, the model can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 355 km/h.  Mansory’s special edition Lamborghini will be produced in a limited run of six units.

Tear Away Wall Paper.

Applying wallpaper to walls has never been so fun. With this perforated “tear off” wallpaper from ZNAK, you can customize the appearance of your space by tearing off the pieces as you please. The wallpaper is created out of non-woven material and the shapes are inspired by the the transformation process of snakes.

Read Your Book Case.

Read your bookcase, a modular typographical bookcase by Saporiti, is an awesome looking piece of furniture.  Although the customization options are non existant, it’s still quite a unique show off piece.

Hermes X Vans Collection.

So what happens when a man with an extensive Hermes scarf collection asks the kind people at Vans to turn them into custom shoes?  Some very beautiful & very unique footwear is created.  If these were lace ups I might just sell my key to Sara Underwood‘s condo for them.  Uber dope.

Field Candy.

FieldCandy tents do not give you camouflage protection in the natural setting, nor do they help you blend in with the rest of the crowd at the campsite. FieldCandy tents are designed to stand out.  When I saw the first images of these limited-edition designer tents with their cool flysheets, we had to really stop and think.  Is it true that no-one else has manufactured these types of tents for sale before?

Pieces can be individually displayed as art, but I haven’t seen anything quite like this.  It was one of those moments when you think: Why have all tents always looked pretty much the same? We customize everything else, why not tents? And even more remarkably: Why have we been satisfied with those boring, standard tent colors for so long?

So, through a two-year development process, Jersey, UK-based FieldCandy has created what we did not know we needed. Until now. They selected a group of 20 or so artists and designers – photographers, graphic designers, illustrators, branding and advertising designers – to create designs that were then transferred to the ultra-light, waterproof flysheet that covers the two-person tent.

They now offer more than 40 different designs by 18 artists. The designs are grouped in several collections. In The Legend Collection, for example, includes Terry Pastor’s black design with psychedelic guns and Philip Gatward’s blue and yellow parrots on a grey hued background.  On the FieldCandy website, a counter next to each design indicates how many of that design are still left.  Each tent comes with a label that shows the edition number and the design name. Prices range from $430 for the black FieldCandy signature tent to over $1,000. FieldCandy ships around the world The tents are available exclusively through the website.

Custom Power Ranger Hoodies.

This image of awesome Power Rangers hoodies was floating around today, but it isn’t worth a damn unless you can actually get your hands on one. After a little digging I discovered that they probably originated from RangerBoard member Shoebasket who notes that he will take custom orders for $110 $85 a pop.

The 1967 Camaro StreetFighter.

Classic cars have always been a source of mysticism and awe for me.  Its just baffling that vehicles in the late 60′s and early 70′s can blow some of the most technologically advanced racers of the current times out of water.  The power of classic American muscle cars is truly something to be marveled at, and the pictures I found of a 1967 Camaro “StreetFighter” just remind me of that.  Unfortunately I couldn’t find any information about the owner of said car, or the specific modifications made to the car, but the pictures are quite impressive none the less.

The Wonderlamp Collection.

I’m not quite sure what my recent fascination with lighting is, but I’ve been coming across some extremely unique examples of ways to light a house or apartment.  Belgian studio ‘Studio Job’ together with Dutch designer Pieke Bergmans presented their ‘wonderlamp’ collection at Italian gallery Dilmos during Milan Design Week.  Studio Job creates monumental objects made of cast bronze, while Bergmans has made a name for herself developing mouth-blown crystal forms which coagulate into fluid forms.  For ‘wonderlamp’ the light giving blubs of Bergmans are linked to seven bronze objects from Studio Job.  With the collaboration, the unique style of both designers remains intact.

The Sickest Snowman Ever.

We may be in the middle of the summer, but that doesn’t mean one can’t be thinking about winter.  I came across this video of a slide in Tahoe build like a snowman that just blew my mind.  The entire project took over 80 hours of shoveling, and although I’m not sure how long it lasted, I’m sure there was many more than 80 hours of fun had on it.  Check the method.

Stefania Morland Designs.

I’ve been getting closer and closer to the world of fashion as I work on projects with different with folks from designers and models, and I’ve started to have an eye for good work.  Normally a black cocktail dress that comes to right above the booty is enough to render me speechless, but after seeing some dress designs from Stefania Morland, I know beautiful woman can dress to impress in many more ways.  Her incredible designs, are not overly gaudy, but still give off a sense of eloquence and sophistication that are amplified by her attention to detail in each piece I’ve seen.  Check the method.

10 Super Creative Facebook Layouts.

A few months back, Facebook revamped the profile layout; and we all know that some many users were complaining about the Facebook new profile page layout for a while. But, some more creative individuals made the best of the situation and started having fun with it, showing really serious creativity by taking advantage of Facebook new profile page photo layout.  I heard that it all started when a French Artist Alexandre Oudin began showing creativity with the profile images.  And since then, a trend has been set with more and more such designs are now emerging. Facebook users are playing around with their profile pics and creating awesome profile page using animations, photography, typography and videos.  Unfortunately just like everything else truly creative, other people try to profit off of it, and we wind up with website that let you pick a pre-made banner and plop it onto your page.  But here are a list of 10 people who chose to do something original before it was a fad.

The ”Modli”.

Playing with lighting is one of the most crucial steps in interior design. MODLI was designed with this in mind. It allows the user to shape the illuminated object to the form of their choice, creating unique effects and completely customizable options. Now anyone can visualize and create the perfect lighting arrangement. MODLI is simple and practical for maintenance and provides versatile lighting effects in public areas and as an architectural light.

Custom Prada.

The Italian luxury brand takes the concept of customization a bit further than most of the competitors in its bracket by introducing the Made To Order “Lettering” Service exclusively online and in select Prada boutiques.  Backpacks, trolleys and tote bags can be customised with letters that come in pop art-tastic colours and prints.  Prada isn’t the only label to offer a personalised service. Louis Vuitton launched “Mon Monogram” in 2008 with its popular Speedy handbag and Keepall travel bag.  But the Prada brand just (to me) seems a bit steezy-er.

Rocks For Cushions?

Ronel Jordaan has been making rock cushions since December 2004. Not only that, but Ronel’s rock cushions is also way better looking than the ones from Livingstones. When you compare the two, you will be absolutely amazed how real Ronel’s “rock cushions” look.  Jordaan’s cushions are also completely hand-made, hand-dyed, hand-carded, made out of felt, and have no stitches. What you end up with is a much better result. It is not several pieces of textile put together and made to look like a rock. It has a more complete feel.  You can get the rocks in several colors like cream, pale brown, pale grey, mid grey, dark grey, charcoal, brown, and DK brown. And, they come in several sizes ranging from small 35x30x18cm (14x12x7 inches) to gigantic 65x65x35cm (26x26x14 inches).

2 Custom Instruments, Everyone Should Learn To Play.

Reactable

Not too many people are actually familiar with the technical definition of an instrument.  Before you say that I’m wrong, just know that 80% of the people I’ve spoken to about the ‘Reactable’ think it’s some sort of Liberty Science Center exhibit, not a music instrument.  The Reactable is a round translucent table, used in a darkened room, and appears as a backlit display. By placing blocks called tangibles on the table, and interfacing with the visual display via the tangibles or fingertips, a virtual modular synthesizer is operated, creating music or sound effects.  The Reactable is an electronic musical instrument with a tabletop Tangible User Interface that has been developed within the Music Technology Group at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain by Sergi Jordà, Marcos Alonso, Martin Kaltenbrunner and Günter Geiger.

The Samchillian

This oddly named instrument is an electronic musical tool which takes Leon Gruenbaum’s “Samchillian” concept and defines a possible product design for it. The challenge for the production team was to make a product, which would be aesthetic, ergonomic and could be used on stage. Since this is a new and an unusual type of musical instrument a lot of thought went into defining an new iconic shape but one which still comunicates as a musical instrument.  Like the Reactable, its a new type of musical instrument which uses the concept of keys representing relative notes, rather then fixed notes (as in a piano). an explanation of what that means is apparent in the film.

Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT

The British cell phone manufacturer Vertu has once again partnered with Ferrari to release the Ascent Ferrari GT handset.  Inspired by the equally high-end Italian cars, the Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT has a body made made forged titanium with a matte black PVD finish.  The black and red hand-sewn leather ornaments use the exact same leather as the Ferrari interiors.  The list of design highlights continues with a ceramic battery cover and a side inspired by the famous Ferrari engine grill.  The handset comes with a rather small 2-inch QVGA display with 16 million colors, which is protected by sapphire crystal glass.  It boasts a 5-megapixel camera with integrated LED flash and video recording capabilities, as well as high-performance dual hands-free loudspeaker.  Vertu will only create two thousand and eleven phones Ascent Ferrari GT units, but has so far not revealed their prices.
