Lamborghini Egoista Concept For 50th Anniversary

Powered by a 600 horsepower 5.2-liter V10 engine, the lamborghini egoista celebrates the company’s 50th anniversary with a design by walter da silva, the head of designer of the volkswagen group. The single-seater concept is characterized by two fundamental aspects: its architecture, and the materials used. The cockpit, designed like a tailor-made suit for the driver, is a removable section which, once combined with the rest of the vehicle, creates a perfect technical, mechanical and aerodynamic unit. Influenced by the world of aviation – specifically an apache helicopter – the cockpit can be ejected in an emergency. The cockpit, made completely of  carbon fiber and aluminum, represents a sort of survival cell, allowing the driver to isolate and protect themselves from external elements, they kept an eye on the future when designing the egoista, with the idea that its cockpit could have been taken from a jet aircraft and integrated into a road vehicle, to provide a different travel option.

Mansory Carbonado Lamborghini Aventador‎.

Mansory has reworked the Lamborghini Aventador into a limited production model named the Carbonado, after the black diamonds found in Africa and Brazil.  The Carbonado is coming with a lot of carbon fiber accessories, including new carbon fiber panels applied over its body and over its engine hood.  Interior is given the special leather treatment on the seats and dashboard, a newly designed airbag sports steering wheel made out of real carbon fiber and non-slip aluminum pedals.  Other modifications from the standard supercar include a new high performance exhaust, which with a re-mapped ECU lifts the power output to 743 bhp.  According to the German tuner, the model can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 355 km/h.  Mansory’s special edition Lamborghini will be produced in a limited run of six units.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Merveilleux.

Bugatti has unveiled the Super Sport Edition Merveilleux. The one-off model is apparently a birthday present for a mysterious Chinese man named Simon.  This special Super Sport model is distinguished by an unpainted carbon fiber body, blacked-out alloys and brightwork, and a bright blue interior.  The Edition Merveilleux is unveiled in a special video (below) wishing the owner of the latest one-off Bugatti a happy birthday.  The Super Sport has a quad turbocharged sixteen-cylinder engine with 1,200 PS (882 kW / 1184 hp) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque.  The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport currently holds the Guinness record for the world’s fastest production with an official top speed of 430 km/h (268 mph).

The Masonry Cyrus Aston Martin.

Mansory has release the Cyrus package based on the Aston Martin DBS or the Aston Martin DB9. A coilover suspension provides the best road holding and emphasises the striking rims in XXL. The refinement is perfected by an exclusive interior programme. At the front axle, a newly designed front skirt with enlarged air inlets provides the optimal ventilation for the twelve-cylinder aggregate. The Mansory CYRUS Aston Martin DBS / DB9 front is visually enhanced with the newly designed carbon bonnet. The newly designed rear skirt with the integrated diffuser emphasises the superior look and provides space for four stainless steel end pipes of the sonorous sport exhaust system.

The Vertu Constellation Quest.

Vertu, the leading manufacturer of luxury mobile phones has launched a carbon fibre edition of its Constellation Quest handset.  Engineered using high performance materials combined with luxury finishes, Constellation Quest Carbon Fibre takes its inspiration from the world of motorsport and aeronautical design.  Constellation Quest Carbon Fiber features a matte black PVD body with detailing in polished stainless steel or polished 18 carat gold.  Surrounding the pillow, the polished stainless steel or gold detailing features a new step-design, unique to this product, giving a more geometric styling to this component.  The navigation key is finished in polished black PVD, as are the turn key, flash and lens surrounds, forming the essential design DNA of Constellation.  “Constellation Quest Carbon Fibre is Vertu’s first product to combine its smartphone technology with this most contemporary of design materials,“ said Perry Oosting, Vertu President.  “The result is a product that gives those customers who prefer the sporting aesthetic the opportunity to have a qwerty device incorporating the latest business tools.”  This luxury smarthphone is available from this month, and the price is €7,700 for the stainless steel model and €12,000 for the 18-karat gold model.

Hublot King Power Carbon Fiber Cathedral Watch.

To mark the 2011 Baselworld Fair Hublot is presenting a world first, with a minute repeater watch featuring two “Cathedral” type gongs, a tourbillon and column wheel chronograph, with carbon fiber bridges, in a case made from carbon fiber.  This is a perfect illustration of “Fusion” between great watchmaking tradition and the technology of the future.

Another Damn Lambo.

I know I put up a Lambo very recently, but when I saw the Lamborghini Sesto, and I had to put it up.  The words Sesto elemento are Italian for “sixth element.” The term refers to the matte-finish carbon-fiber that makes up the Sesto’s body panels and basic structure. Carbon fiber is many things — hyper-expensive, difficult to repair, pretty — but it is also one of the lightest and strongest materials currently being used in car construction. As a result, Lamborghini claims that the V-10-powered Sesto weighs in at a staggering 2200 pounds. (Perspective: That’s 1100 pounds lighter than a Lamborghini Gallardo and a fat passenger’s heft away from a Lotus Elise.) In other words, if it weren’t for the massive engine mounted behind the passenger compartment, the Sesto might flutter down the street in a stiff breeze. This is in stark contrast to Lamborghini’s current lineup, almost all of which emphasizes power, traction and comfort over low weight.
