Wristwatch Concept “Round-the-Clock”

The Round-the-Clock created by Kõrös Benedek looks like a bracelet but at the same time it tells the time with hour and minute rings that rotate around the user’s wrist. Made of stainless steel, plastic and rubber, this exceptional timepiece is unexpectedly modern and elegant.

Angelina Jolie’s Jerlery Collection.

The Style of Jolie jewelry line designed in collaboration between Angelina Jolie and Robert Procop is set to go on display in the South of France this summer via two month-long pop-ups.  An array of necklaces, earrings and bracelets worn by the actress at various movie premieres will hit the Grand Hotel in Cap Ferrat and Monaco‘s prestigious Hotel de Paris concurrently between July 15 and August 15.  The movie star showcased her jewelry collaboration during an expo at Julien’s Gallery in Beverly Hills back in April last year, while the new French exhibition is set to showcase some additional new jewels.

Proceeds from the sale of the jewelry will be donated to the star’s charitable foundation, the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which helps children in need across the globe.  As well as teaming up with Jolie for the Style of Jolie collection, leading gemstone specialist Procop has close links with the Hollywood actress after designing the engagement ring fiancé Brad Pitt offered her earlier this year.  The actor was said to have had a key input in the design of the $250,000 ring, which took 12 months to make, and features a stunning oblong-shaped rock inset into a thick ribbed band.  While the jewels are normally only available to view by private appointment, the pop-up showcases will give unprecedented access to the line.

Stacey Lee Webber’s Coin Bracelets.

Everyone on the planet seems to be more and more concerned with money (or lack there of) now a days, so having jewelry designed from objects of monetary value seems a bit hard to fathom.  However Stacey Lee Webber is selling a very unique collection of coin-made wrist-wear that stands out far more than the average piece.  No matter the cost of these artworks, you’ll always know they’re worth something.

‘Project Bee’.

Project Bee is a talking, interactive GPS enabled navigation assistant intended for the visually impaired but there’s no reason why sighted people couldn’t benefit from it either. Lack of independent mobility and access to new emerging technologies has kept the visually impaired market behind but with Project Bee, designer Tao Lin hopes things will change – all via a very stylish bracelet.

The system relies on voice commands, audio and haptic feedback. The video explains it better but be prepared for the long winded intro but what instantly jumps out at me is this device doesn’t look like a “helper.” It looks like something anybody with a tech minded fetish would love and that’s a win-win assuming the whole thing works.

Sakurako Shimizu’s Waveform Designs.

Now its definitely not everyday that I look at something like a wedding ring, and in most cases I try my hardest to stay away from them (sorry ladies), but designer Sakurako Shimizu changed my outlook on the traditional wedding band. He has an entire collection of “waveform jewelry” that’s a miraculous departure from the norm. The first thing I noticed were the rings pictured above. Those funky little designs in the rings are Literally waveforms of the other person saying “I Do”. Now waveforms may not be as exciting to a gold digger as a huge diamond, but for a nerd like myself that works with sound everyday, it’s supremely cool. Once again, I’m not planning on something as insane as marriage anytime soon. But the concept behind the rings are crazy, they come in all different types of precious metals, and if your not looking to tie the knot anytime soon, Shimizu makes more stuff out of waveforms. Check some more of his collection out below.

Rosary Boys

Click the pic to whiteness greatness.

I haven’t really gotten into jewlery too much on this Blog, but after seeing RB, that might all change. Rosary Boys is a collection of jewelry designed with the efforts of unification. Every piece comes with a positive message, phrase, or word. It’s also “Compilation Jewelry”. Every month Rosary Boys works with an artist, store or apparel company in collaborative efforts to create a jewelry piece with a once in a lifetime feel. Check in to their website every month to see new collaborations. NOT A NAME BRAND, JUST A VISION. And allow me to correct my previous statement… If all jewelry was as unique as Rosary Boys, I’d feature jewelry a lot more often.
