The New York hip-hop star was originally due to release ‘LongLiveA$AP’ in September of this year but rescheduled the release date to October 31. He then subsequently shelved the release until 2013 after revealing that the mastering of the record was taking longer than expected, due to his refusal to back down over clearing any of the samples used on the LP.  Explaining the delay, Rocky said: “The issue with my album is I got things on it that’s so out of this world that it’s taking so long to get mastered. That’s the issue, and I refuse to take anything off. It’s complete, everything is being mastered and cleared right now. Its just so hard to get things cleared, because you got to find people to clear samples.”

Busta Rhymes Discusses Lil Wayne’s Negative Remarks About New York.

“Everybody’s entitled to their opinion,” NY native Busta said Wednesday on Hot 97 personality Angie Martinez’s afternoon show to promote his new free LP Year of the Dragon.  In fact, Busa Bus has similar feelings toward El Paso, Texas, after he and his entourage were arrested after performing there several years back. “It don’t mean I don’t like the people there, it don’t mean I don’t like my support, my love, but I don’t like El Paso,” the Dungeon Dragon stated, making his point very clear. “My experience in El Paso makes me not like it. I haven’t done another show there since.”  As far as his buddy Weezy, Busta understands why he’s down on the Big Apple. On Monday, MTV News asked Wayne how it felt to perform in New York on August 14 with Nicki Minaj.

“You know, flat out: I don’t like New York,” Weezy said before saying he had an “awesome” time on stage with Nicki.  State Senator Malcolm A. Smith of Queens was “angry,” “taken aback” and “shocked” by Lil Wayne’s contempt for his beloved city, according to The New York Times, so much so that he organized a conference in Father Duffy Square, between West 46th and West 47th Streets, on Wednesday to demand an apology.  “If you don’t like New York,” Smith said, according to the NY Times, “you don’t have to come to New York. You don’t have to sell your products here. And perhaps we won’t come to your concerts.”

Rick Ross’s Cover For ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’.

In the 1980s, Mr. T was the toughest dude on television. Homie even got then-First Lady Nancy Reagan to sit on his lap and discuss ways to battle the crack epidemic. And in 1984, he dropped Mr. T’s Commandments, a kid-friendly record that encouraged children to stay in school and away from drugs.  But T’s reputation as America’s baddest bearded black man has since faded and a new breed of badass has emerged — the dudes of Maybach Music Group, and particularly its captain, Rick Ross.  However, Mr. T’s influence is very much alive as evidenced by Mr. Ross’s newly unveiled God Forgives, I Don’t cover art.

Taken By Storm.

Storm Thorgerson has been designing album cover art for over 35 years. Thorgerson was a key member of the British graphic art group Hipgnosis, and designed many of their most famous single and album covers. Perhaps Storm Thorgerson’s most famous designs are those for Pink Floyd as his design for The Dark Side of the Moon has been called one of the greatest album covers of all time.  Many of Storm Thorgerson’s designs are notable for their surreal elements as he often places objects out of their traditional contexts, especially with vast spaces around them, to give them an awkward appearance while highlighting their beauty.  And I’m not just saying that because we share the same first name.

Storm Thorgerson’s surrealist work raised the bar for album cover designs, changing the way the world looked at the music of everyone from Peter Gabriel to Black Sabbath. Born in Dartford, Kent in 1944, Storm Thorgerson went to school with Roger Waters and Syd Barrett. He studied English and Philosophy at university before going on to complete an MA in Film and Television at the Royal College of Art.  His career as an artist began accidentally; around the time of his graduation from the Royal College Pink Floyd were completing their second album A Saucerful of Secrets, when a friend turned down the job of creating its sleeve. With no background in art or graphic design Storm Thorgerson volunteered to step into the fold.
