Someone might be disappointed that the engine power to the XKR-S has not changed. But the body has changed – it added carbon lollipops, splitter under the front bumper, deflectors around the fenders and rear delivers large wing. Maximum speed remains limited to 300 km/h. The acceleration takes it from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Power transfer to the road to remain in charge and ZF six-speed automatic electronically controlled limited slip active differential. Another novelty is carbon-ceramic brakes, used by Jaguar for the first time. The front wheels have a diameter of 398 mm, rear 380 mm – thanks to them reduced unsprung masses by 21 kg. Jaguar offered only 25 pieces (five in Canada and rest in USA).

2014 Bentley Flying Spur

Picture 14 Picture 15

The second generation luxury sedan based on Bentley Continental is imminent. Bentley Continental Flying Spur appeared in 2005 as a response to the need for a smaller, more modern luxury sedan, the brand that would make sure increase in sales and a wider clientele. As the name (and design) told, it was a sedan, modeled on the Continental GT coupe. The public response was lukewarm. However, those for whom the vehicle was designed, i.e. rich customers who do not spend time on the internet discussions, obviously liked, because the brand is doing well and the Flying Spur is preparing a successor. The fact is that the promo video shows that the car will have a new column shaped body and the line of the side windows and the bow can expect similar changes which accompanied the alternation of generations in the Continental GT. Flying Spur will be powered by a 6.0L W12 capable of producing 616 hp, 590 lb-ft of torque, taking it to from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The inside amenities and modern gadgetry will be as always Bentley delivers. But the highlights for the 2014 Flying Spur we’ve received are built-in hotspot, two 10” rear screens with 64Gigs of storage and 1100 watt Naim sound system. Expect to see it on roads in coming summer.

Super Car Concept Designs.

Concept cars are basically a creative mind at work with no limitations.  You dont need to worry about how street legal it is or how much damage it will do to a person if you hit them doing 20mph… the answer is it does allot no matter how you design it you stupid regulations people.  Any how that’s the biggest short coming of a concept car.  What you see at the auto show wont ever make it to your drive way.  Yet it shows what we car capable of building and that a chevy impala may actually be the most boring car on earth.  Now that i offended the one Impala owner who visits this site we can safely move on.  Check out this wide range of properly awesome concept cars.   Brands include Bugatti, Ferrari, Tesla, Formula one, McLaren, BMW, and Mercedes Benz.

Michael Bay’s ‘Ninja Turtles’.

At the annual Nickelodeon upfront presentation recently, über-producer Michael Bay revealed details for Platinum Dunes’ upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, including a new origin story for the half-shell heroes that is sure to raise the ire of diehard fans.

“When you see this movie, kids are going to believe one day these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie,” said Bay as he took the stage to discuss his new vision for the reptilian reboot. “These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable.”

In the original mythology, four baby turtles fall into the sewer and come into contact with glowing radioactive ooze, which mutates them into four bad-ass warriors trained in ninjutsu by astute rodent Splinter. But could the rewriting of the Turtles’ origin story dissuade some fans from embracing the newest incarnation? A comic book-to-movie adaptation’s worst nightmare is bad pre-publicity, and Bay may have generated that in about 30 words.

On the flip side, it might seem outrageous to non-fans of the series that Teenage Mutant Ninja purists are offended by the new mythos of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. Truth, we might sound a wee bit ridiculous when we cry out, “I can’t believe Bay says they’re aliens when they’re obviously derived from radioactive slime!” But Bay is essentially erasing almost 30 years of love for transmogrified adolescent reptile ninjas by claiming each turtle is less of a fearsome, fighting toxic anomaly and more of a forest green E.T. with nunchucks. What would Shredder think!?

PopWatchers, how does this new origin story make you feel? Are you a purist for the original backstory, or will you embrace Bay’s vision? And who would you cast for this live-action TMNT reboot? Personally, I think Splinter’s a toss-up between Morgan Freeman and Kate Upton.

The 2015 Electric BMW’s.

BMW will launch a mid-range MPV aimed at larger families in 2015, to complete its ‘Project i’ series of upcoming electric vehicles.  Although the first ‘i’ model — (the i3) — hasn’t even hit the roads yet, BMW executives are already planning to augment the range.  Essentially, the proposed i5 is designed to compete with models such as the recently launched Toyota Prius V, an enlarged version of the hybrid bestseller which can seat up to seven passengers and offers plenty of cabin space.  It could be built on the platform of the i3, an all-electric hatchback concept due in 2013 which features a 125kW motor, a top speed of 150 km/h and an optional range extender which uses gas to ensure the it doesn’t run out of juice.  The model will be priced above €50,000, giving it a considerable premium compared to the Prius V, which starts at €23,000.   Its second model, the i8, is a high-performance sportscar slated for release in 2014.

The Lamborghini Estoque.

Lamborghini doesn’t usually build a concept car without it getting put to some kind of use in the future. It’s never happened, and we’ll place bets on the fact that it won’t ever happen. Try as they may to deny the fact that the Estoque would not see the production line, this concept vehicle stood a fantastic chance at becoming the third model in Lamborghini’s line-up.  To prove this theory, I found a recent statement from Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann.  In the statement he confirmed that the company is indeed preparing a third model, and that this new model is not an SUV as people have speculated, but a four-door luxury sedan.

“We have opportunities outside the supercar business, and we showed that with Estoque. It had a more enthusiastic response than we had expected. It was the right time to see if the brand could go outside of supercars. Even now, people are still emailing me about us making the Estoque.”

And if the strong demand for a production version of the Estoque doesn’t make them actually build it, the recent success the company has been having on the Chinese market may just give Lamborghini the final push they need, especially since luxury four-door sedans are in high demand over there.

Bugatti Galibier Gets A New Design.

The Bugatti Galibier is still in the works but the model being develop differs substantially from the concept we have previously seen.  The group has been taking advice about the Galibier’s design from current Bugatti owners, with half of those who own a Veyron having already been inside the new car.  Bugatti chief Wolfgang Durheimer told Autocar that the Galibier is still in development and “in its second half of the design phase.”  Durheimer will present the new design to his VW bosses by Christmas when a final decision on production will be made.  The new car will be lengthier and provide more rear legroom for the passengers, and that’s the whole point of the car as a four-door version of the Veyron.  The original concept car used a 900bhp twin supercharged version of the Veyron’s W16 engine, but the power figures of the new car will ‘be at least four figures’.  The luxurious sports saloon is estimated to cost around €1 million (US$1.4 million) when it arrives in the market in 2013 or 2014.
