Take a closer look at Microsoft‘s upcoming Xbox One – the highly-anticipated follow-up to the Xbox 360. “Designed from the ground up to be the centerpiece of every living room,” the new console is dominated by a sleek black exterior of sharp lines, corresponding controllers, and a matching Kinect system. Now featuring an expanded field of view, tweaked gesture-recognition, and voice-recognition technology that even allows you to boot up the system by simply saying “Xbox on.” Inside, the Xbox One boasts an 8-core x86 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray functionality, and HDMI pass-thru while the controller itself now features more than 40 improvements that include “Impulse Triggers” (pressure-sensitivity), streamlined thumb sticks, and contours to the buttons and D-pad. What will likely set the Xbox One apart from the next-gen pack, however, is its user experience. Sporting a new Windows OS, the Xbox One features an easy-to-use interface that includes Skype, cloud capabilities, and a Smartglass feature that allows users to turn mobile devices into a second screen for a more immersive interaction. Finally, Xbox Live will introduce “Smart Match”, a revolutionary matchmaking system that will pair players based on advanced algorithms using language, skill, and reputation.

Sean Garrett has been working behind the scenes, producing for Brandy and Mindless Behavior, but he returns to the mic with his new single “Twilight Zone.” Sean Garrett calls on a rapping Trey Songz and an Auto-Tuned Future for the freaky record, which is set to appear on his Gangsta Grillz mixtape, The Inkwell 2, tentatively due in July.

Nugget Hollow by HUXHUX Design is an end table with a sculptural, geometric shape and a pop of color and light on the inside. It’s hand made from solid birch and finished in both a carbonized and distressed white-washed exterior. The interiors are finished in bright colors of Acid Green, Sky Blue and Nu Orange and includes an interior light.

Ulysse Nardin is teaming up with HBO Global Licensing to create a signature men’s timepiece specifically for the critically-acclaimed drama Game of Thrones. The Emmy winning series from HBO follows several powerful families who are struggling for the Iron Throne and control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. This watch will draw inspiration from the Night’s Watch. The Night’s Watch, a military order dressed only in black, is dedicated to holding The Wall, an ice fortress that protects the Seven Kingdoms from the dangers of the North. The sporty Night’s Watch marine diver, is monochromatic in rich black with elements of red, which is said to represent the serious feel of the sacred order. Its 45.8 mm diameter case is made from stainless steel, coated with matte black rubber and finished with an exposed, sapphire glass case back engraved with the Game of Thrones logo. The watch is inscribed on the strap with the phrases “The Night’s Watch” and “I am the Sword in the Darkness”.

British car maker Aston Martin celebrates its 100th anniversary with the Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept sports car. It pays homage to AM’s 1959 Le Mans and Nurburgring-winning DBR1, perhaps the automaker’s greatest sport triumph on the track, as well as hinting at future design direction. The body and interior are crafted entirely from carbon fiber, designed and constructed in less than six months at Aston Martin’s global headquarters in Gaydon. The car borrows the open-top “speedster” body style from the DBR1. But it dispenses with the windshield and adds huge cutouts in the so-called “swan wing” doors, which open at an upward angle and are a hallmark of modern Aston Martins. The Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept car uses a version of the company’s potent 6-liter V12 engine and a six-speed automated manual transmission. The new car is claimed to have a limited top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) while being capable of reaching 62 mph (100 km/h) in just over 4.0 seconds.

Following from the unveil of his single “New Slaves” and a performance on Saturday Night Live, Kanye West now shares the official artwork for his forthcoming album Yeezus. Joining a multidisciplinary onslaught of promotion, which includes an unofficial cover art preview via Kim Kardashian’s Instagram, we now see the cover art in all its glory. Obscure and equally suggestive, the cover art for Yeezus no doubt holds a number of metaphors which will see more light on the LP’s release on June 18.

Marcel Luchian Studio designed the minimalist M House in Singera, a town in the Republic of Moldavia. Composed of unconventional forms, the residence’s concept design also does a brilliant job of marrying materials with a combination of glass and concrete, both inside and out. The house’s structure is made up of two off-center forms, one on top of the other, steering clear of a traditional box-like design. The overhang from the second floor provides exterior coverage below, perfect for when it’s raining. The two stories also contrast in color, with the darker shade being on the bottom. The interior continues the harmonious use of light and dark materials with dark polished floors alongside white and neutral-toned furnishings and walls.
