First, Rihanna brought the cult classic Clueless back to life by wearing that Cher Horowitz’s little red dress and now famous brand Wildfox Couture recreates the film’s wardrobe for its Spring 2013 lookbook. The ’90s are back! For its Spring 2013 catalogue Wildfox Coutures taps models Fatima Siad, Olivia Greenfield and Tanya Katysheva. Inspired by the iconic ’90s flick “Clueless”, the Californian label use the three models to impersonate Cher (Alicia Silverstone), Dionne (Stacey Dash) and Tai (the late, great Brittany Murphy). From the Rodeo Drive to the tennis courts, the lookbook take us to a journey through the movie.

The color-saturated images were shot by The Cobrasnake – Mark Hunter – and show the girls wearing cropped knits, flirty berets, fun graphic tees and playful silhouettes. The Wildfox Spring/Summer 2013 collection, “We’re the Kids in America,” is a modern line with plenty of comfy t-shirts, maxi dresses, floral prints and ’90s graphics, furry backpack, that iconic yellow-skirt suit, macrame beanies, and gym-class sports bras.

I have always wanted to express something creatively that is more than just fashion, it’s a feeling, a lifestyle, it’s about being a girl. It’s capturing a moment. I think I felt it first when I was about 12 around when Clueless came out and I was so in love with the characters, I didn’t just love the clothes, I loved the girls who wore the clothes – which made me want to wear them even more. – Said designer Kimberley Gordon.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Star-Trek-Into-Darkness-Official-Teaser-Trailer-realesed

Captain James T. Kirk is under character trial in the second official teaser trailer for “Star Trek Into Darkness,” following the annoucement trailer that was released a couple of weeks ago. (Also if you want to check out a longer preview of the movie, go check out the Hobit, in IMAX to get a nine minute preview of Star Trek). That earlier look at one of next summer’s most anticipated extravaganzas emphasized the mass destruction and supreme villainy of Benedict Cumberbatch that will be on display in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” sequel, perhaps coming across more as an explosion-heavy sci-fi action film than, say, a “Star Trek” movie. The new teaser, however, takes us on board the Enterprise, re-acquainting us with the very concerned-looking crew members … and hearing, in the form of a melancholy voiceover by Bruce Greenwood (as Federation Admiral Christopher Pike), a bit of criticism toward the hot-headed captain of the ship. Check it out below by clicking on the pic to see trailers.

The Brand New Man Of Steel Trailer Is Here.

o-MAN-OF-STEEL-POSTER-570

“Man Of Steel” is one of Warner Brothers’ biggest 2013 releases, so it goes to reason that a new trailer for the film will come attached to prints of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” (Not that you need to enter Middle-earth to see the latest teaser.)  Directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan, “Man of Steel” recalls the oft-recounted origin story for Superman. As the first teasers hinted at, however, this isn’t necessarily your pa’s Man of Steel: Snyder’s film appears to have the earthy look of a Terrence Malick feature mixed with the gravitas of Nolan’s well-regarded Batman trilogy.

Authentic ft. Clayton William – Caught Up Remix (Official Video).

tb3

Breathing new life into a song can be accomplished many different ways.  The most common way is the remix, but over time remixes just tire out a song even more, or give you something that makes you long for the original.  Fortunately thanks to the brilliant minds behind ‘Caught Up’, it’s remix surpasses it’s already noteworthy original.  With a new beat from Rich Morfin, the Authentic & Clayton William track has an entirely new appeal and proves that not everyone has forgotten what a good remix is supposed to sound like.

The video it self was direct and cut together by Wills Joseph, and features a spirited mish-mash of different moments in the life of Authentic.  Clayton William, Rich Morfin, and many other make appearances throughout the video.  The song itself can be found on Authentic’s upcoming release ‘The Book Of Travy’, being released on 12/21/12 at ItsTravy.com.

Pinokio – Real Life Pixar Lamp

pixar_lamp-t2

The Real-Life Pixar Lamp called Pinokio has come to reality with awesome artificial intelligence technology. The lamp you saw in the Pixar animated movies, has been designed in the real to stand on desk and amuse you with its incredibly funny and dynamic gestures. Book lovers like it most because it makes possible for machines to interact with humans in a quite decent way while staying on study table. I wish it could jump like the virtual Pixar Lamp. The lamp is designed antique by Victoria University students Shanshan Zhou, Adam Ben-Dror, and Joss Doggett using Processing, Arduino, and OpenCV. It has a tiny camera for facial recognition and eight sensors to detect movements. Not just that, it listens to the sounds in environment and understands what is going on around. Is someone playing hide and seek with him? Well he understands those gestures too. The mass production of this lamp will start after developers get the safety approval license.

Fake Trailer – ‘Where’s Waldo’ as Government Action Thriller

“Of all the men in our agency, you’re one of the few who knows how to blend in completely.” With MGM snagging the rights to a Where’s Waldo movie late last year, it appears at least some people are still keen on seeing the striped vagabond hit theaters. However, we still don’t know what kind of story will be crafted to adapt the classic book series. Well, others can’t wait for the studio to get going and have taken the character into their own hands in an unexpected way. Alex Goyette and his Joule Thief crew have crafted a trailer making the character a specialized assassin who goes so rogue, he would make Jack Bauer blush. Here’s the fake trailer for Where’s Waldo from Alex Goyette and Joule Thief via Vulture.

Disney to Acquire Lucasfilm

Disney announced Tuesday that it is acquiring Lucasfilm LTD, including the Star Wars franchise, for $4.05 billion in stock and cash. In a press release announcing the acquisition, Disney announced that Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for a release date in 2015 and that “more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.” On a conference call, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that in addition to Episode 7, episodes 8 and 9 are also in the works. The goal, Iger said, was to “release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years.” This is Disney’s third major brand and studio acquisition in the last ten years. In 2006, the company acquired Pixar for $7.4 billion. In 2009, Disney acquired Marvel for $4 billion. Lucasfilm co-chairman Kathleen Kennedy will become president of Lucasfilm under Disney and serve as Star Wars brand manager. George Lucas will serve as a creative consultant. The other subsdiaries of Lucasfilm, LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic and SKywalker Sound are also moving to Disney. The plan is to keep all Lucasfilm employees at its current San Francisco headquarters. What do you think of this merger between two of the biggest entertainment brands in the world?

Daniel Agdag Creator of “Sets for a Film I’ll Never Make”

The word which first comes to mind when observing these new works by Daniel Agdag: meticulous. Already known for an award-winning stop motion film, he has now set his talented hands to the task of creating a series of sculptures: “Sets for a Film I’ll Never Make”. Each astoundingly detailed model is constructed using sliced cardboard and PVA glue – mediums you would hardly associate with such precise work.

What makes these art deco styled pieces even more impressive is the fact that Agdag creates them as what he calls “paper sketches.” Working without a plan he creates each work from spontaneous inspiration, developing them as he goes. When you look at the masses of thin paper wire, switchboards, pulleys and cogs in many of his works – or the fact that when photographed the scenes look as realistic as if they’ve sprung from the screen of a vintage film-noir – this feat is really fantastic.

Iron Man 3 Synopsis

With the trailer rumored to be coming out in the coming weeks Disney/Marvel have now released the official synopsis for May’s “Iron Man 3″:

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968.

The Dark Knight Rises DVD.

As it continues to bring in no shortage of cash in cinemas around the world, attention is nonetheless slowly turning as to when Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, is heading to DVD and Blu-ray. And we might just have the first hint of an answer.

Amazon Germany is generally one of the first to go live with a release date, and it’s now got both the DVD and Blu-ray of The Dark Knight Rises up for pre-order. The artwork isn’t finalised, but the site is listing Friday 30th November 2012 as when to expect the film. That’s not generally used as a holding date for Amazon Germany either, which tends to use 28th December as a list date for titles where it’s not got a firm release date hammered down.

Friday isn’t a traditional day to release a DVD/Blu-ray into the world, granted, but Warner Bros has made high profile exceptions in the past. The other rumored date that has been doing the rounds is Friday 7th December, but Amazon Germany is the first shopping site we’ve seen that’s officially come forward with any date.

And take a look at an amazing fan made trailer for the entire Dark Knight Trilogy…

A Real Life ‘Jurassic Park’?

Australian billionaire Clive Palmer is looking for a way “to clone a dinosaur from DNA” as part of the park-style area at his new resort in Coolum.  Reports suggest that Palmer has been in “deep discussion” with the team that successfully cloned Dolly the Sheep.  If rumors are correct, Palmer hopes to include the cloned animal in his recently announced $2.5 billion plan to build a resort in Coolum, a beachside town on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.  The project is set to include a new airport, a beachfront hotel and retail development, a casino, a monorail, a theme a park, water park, an aviary and an aquarium.  Palmer, one of the richest men in Australia, is building a modern version of the Titanic, planned to be ready to sail in 2016 from London to New York.  The boat will be as similar as possible to the original Titanic in decoration and design but will be built using modern technology.

Jaeger-LeCoultre continues its presence in the Dark Knight trilogy in the blockbuster “The Dark Knight Rises” which released July 20th in the United States.  In the film, the character of Bruce Wayne, philanthropist and billionaire industrialist, wears the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Date.  The Reverso, iconic Swiss watch first created in 1931, has been part of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, continuing its long association with the Batman franchise.  Today, Jaeger-LeCoultre pays tribute to the epic conclusion to the Dark Knight Legend with a custom Reverso watch.  The watch is equipped with a flippable case that is stamped with the iconic Dark Night logo, while the front is outfitted with an art-deco inspired black dial.  In July, for fans of the series, Jaeger-LeCoultre will display the original Reverso in its Geneva, London, Los Angeles, and Hong-Kong boutiques.

Beauty And The Beat.

Some former American Idol contestants — along with a host of YouTube stars have have re-imagined the opening sequence from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Only in this version, instead of a small town in France, Belle is living it up ghetto-fabulously.  The parody, Beauty and the Beat, features some of the biggest names in YouTube – including DeStorm, GloZell, Miles Jai and Antoine Dodson. It’s as ridiculous and over-the-top as you might expect.  Directed by Idol semi-finalist Todrick Hall, the number is a bit like the parodies from the seminal sketch comedy show, In Living Color. In addition to Hall, the video features Idol alumni Katie Stevens and Vonzell Solomon.

The Price Of Being Batman.

Being Batman comes at a cost. Not just the physical and emotional toll, mind you. We’re talking money. Dollar signs. Big bucks. Make no mistake — in the case of the Caped Crusader, extraordinary wealth is absolutely a superpower.  The clever folks at MoneySupermarket.com have put together an equally clever infographic featuring the “Dark Knight Rises” hero and all of his wonderfully expensive toys, showing you just how much money goes into each and every item in Batman’s arsenal. The short version: protecting Gotham City is not a cheap gig.

Another little Batman related tid-bit I came across came from my curiosity as to the exact landscape of Gotham city. Not anymore. This map details every street corner and neighborhood of the city that Batman protects.

Oktapodi.

Oktapodi is a 2007 French computer-animated short film that originated as a Graduate Student Project from Gobelins L’Ecole de L’Image.  It won a gambit of awards from film festivals all over the world, and even though it’s not the newest piece of work out, it’s still pretty dope.
