Django Unchained.

When it comes to movies that are based on history, nobody can bend the hell out of history itself like Q. Tarantino.  After “Inglorious Bastards” (Where the Americans kill Hitler in the end), I knew that if he ever did another history based film, it’d be more about the action than historical correctness.  A few days ago my good friend told me about Will Smith playing his movies safe, and passing on the movie Django Unchained.  I had never heard of the movie before, but when I found out that it was Quentin Tarantino’s take on an action movie based around slavery, I KNEW I had to check that out.

Former dentist, Dr. King Schultz, buys the freedom of a slave, Django, and trains him with the intent to make him his deputy bounty hunter. Instead, he is led to the site of Django’s wife who is under the hands of Calvin Candie, a ruthless plantation owner.

The original Django series hit Guyana in the late 60′s, I was too young to see them but I know they had a huge following.
