Eminem In The Art Of Rap.

Ice-T takes us on an intimate journey into the heart and soul of hip-hop with the legends of rap music. This performance documentary goes beyond the stardom and the bling, to explore what goes on inside the minds, and erupts from the lips, of the grandmasters of rap. Recognized as the godfather of Gangsta rap, Ice-T is granted unparalleled access to the personal lives of the masters of this artform that he credits for saving his life. Interspersed with the performer’s insightful, touching, and often funny revelations are classic raps, freestyle rhymes, and never before heard acappellas straight from the mouths of the creators. What emerges is a better understanding of, and a tribute to, an original American art form that brought poetry to a new generation.

‘House S’

The German practice Christ Associated Architects have completed ‘house S’, an upgrade to a bungalow constructed in the 1960s by Wilfried Hilger in Weisbaden, Germany. To add space to the single family residence, three separate boxes connected with a channel glass corridor were placed upon the flat cantilevered roof. The arrangement generates open-air terraces with diverse atmospheres including a stone-paved courtyard with a pine tree, a meadow with an apple tree and a wooden planked patio with a magnolia.

VIP Lounge By Marc & Chantel For Swire.

Designed by Hong Kong based creative studio Marc & Chantel for Swire Properties, the VIP lounge at Art Hong Kong 2012 was composed of recycled paper collected from the company’s developments and swire group subsidiaries. Accumulated entirely over the course of the month of april, the magazines were rolled up and and then assembled together to create the pavilion’s structure. Circular cushions placed along the edges of the assemblage make the space more comfortable for sitting. The lamps retained the same cylindrical form of the paper rolls were scattered throughout the lounge. Small tables situated throughout the space were likewise built on a foundation of rolled magazines, topped with a pane of glass.

Emirates Unveils The World’s Largest In-Flight Screens.

Emirates has unveiled the world’s widest seat-back television screens, to be installed on its new aircraft.  The new 12.1-inch screen is the largest economy class seatback system in the world, Emirates says, complete with high-definition displays — another first for the Dubai-based carrier.  New screens are also being installed in premium classes, Emirates said May 31, including a 27-inch widescreen in First Class and 20-inch screen in Business Class.  Emirates, which is competing with rival Etihad to build a hub-based model from its location in the Arabian Gulf, has long been recognized for the money it pours into in-flight entertainment, winning world’s best entertainment from airline ratings website Skytrax for the last seven years.

The new upgrade, due to be installed on all new Boeing 777s in the fleet and on the carrier’s A380 aircraft (pictured below) from next year, is likely to further consolidate this position.  A new computer system, developed by Emirates and Panasonic, will drive the screens, offering over 300 movies, thousands of music tracks and television programs.  The new system has been based on a consumer tablet, Emirates says, with the aim of allowing passengers to ‘swipe’ and ‘scroll’ to access functionality and communications features such as SMS and email access.  A tie-up with skating brand Quiksilver will also see new entertainment offered for children, including a branded travel journal, wallet and playing cards.

Big Sean, Pusha T, & 2 Chainz, – Mercy (Live).

With all the controversy surrounding New Jersey’s Hot 97 Summer Jam, it’s a shame that some of the best performances were overshadowed by a performance that didn’t even happen.  (And before anyone jumps up my nose with the fact that Hot 97 is a New York radio station… the concert was HELD in New Jersey.)  But one of my favorite parts of the show was Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz getting together to perform their hit ‘Mercy’.  Check the method below.

1932′s Tintin In America Cover Breaks Records.

A rare 1932 cover illustration of “Tintin in America” by Herge, the artist who dreamed up the boy reporter, on Saturday fetched a record $1.6 million at an auction in Paris.  “The work has been sold at 1,338,509.20 euros, costs included, by a person who wishes to remain anonymous,” a spokesman for the auctioneers, Artcurial, told AFP.  The previous owner, another Tintin collector, had bought it for 764,218 euros in 2008, which had until today stood as the record price in this domain.  Belgian comic book artist Herge painted the Indian ink and gouache colour cover for the first edition of the book, which first appeared in 1934.  One of only five such works of cover art remaining by Herge, it shows the young adventurer dressed as a cowboy sitting on a rock, his dog Snowy at his side, as three Indians, two wielding axes, creep up behind him.

Last year, film director Steven Spielberg released a 3D film, “Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn” and is already planning a sequel.

Rick Ross – Bon Appetit Freestyle & XXL Photoshoot.

People have many different opinions of “The Boss” Rick Ross, but no matter what anyone says, the numbers speak for themselves, and Rozay (along with MMG) are doing quite well.  I came across a video recently from Shutah Films documenting Rick Ross during the XXL cover shoot, that also showcases his Bon Appetit freestyle.  Check the method below.

Kim Yong Soo’s Textured Paintings.

The korean artist Kim Yong Soo whose artwork, at first glance, takes on the somewhat familiar appearance of traditional Japanese paintings of cherry tree blossoms. Closer inspection reveals a textured assemblage of semi-conductors, speaker wires, and acrylic cement, used to form the delicate tree branches, flowers, and ominous humanoid figures that bring an unexpectedly dark presence to these otherwise serene paintings.

iPhone’s Siri Gets Racist?

One of the major fears with technology of the future is malfunctions.  iRobot, The Matrix, and Terminator, are all based on the fundamental principle that advanced technology is capable of terrible things when it has the wrong motives.  That being said, the video below (which is fake) is one of the funniest sketches I’ve seen in a while.  Thanks to ‘Rami-From-Miami’ for the link.

Lil Wayne ft. Big Sean – My Homies Still.

Lil Wayne has given a taste of his upcoming album by debuting its first single “My Homies Still”, featuring Big Sean. The bouncy track uses the “Go Stupid” hook from the G.O.O.D. Music rapper’s hit “Dance (A$$)” and is produced by STREETRUNNER and Saron from Spliffington Management.

Hours before he dropped the song, the Young Money rapper unleashed an artwork for the track. The image simply features the song’s title written in red letters with a plain black background. The single itself is expected to be listed in Weezy’s upcoming album which is tentatively titled “I Am Not a Human Being Pt. 2″.

Interestingly, Weezy has been involved in a feud with Sean’s fellow G.O.O.D. Music member Pusha T. Pusha T started the beef by releasing “Exodus 23:1″ in which he rapped about Weezy’s artist Drake. Responding to it, Weezy later released “Goulish” which took a jab at the one half of the hip hop duo Clipse.

Speaking of a potential conflict that may arise with the inclusion of Sean in Weezy’s single, Young Money president Mack Maine tells MTV News, “That was a great song that was made before that situation happened.” He adds, “I’m not ’bout to go into the studio and tell Wayne to take [Big Sean] off. Wayne not tryna take him off – he’s good peeps, he’s fam.”
