The World Wide Watch.

Sure, it’s a middle class problem but ever get annoyed by having to change the time on your watch when you enter a new country?  It might not be an issue that afflicts those of us who don’t go travelling that often but this ingenious watch is still perfect for those who wish that they did.  The “All Around the World” watch boasts eight hour hands, which resemble landmarks in major cities. For example, if you’re in New York then you’d use the Statue of Liberty as your hour marker. Minutes are always marked by a pigeon. You know, because they’re a given in every city.

Here’s the full list of cities and landmarks:

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

Salt Lake Temple, Utah

Sears Tower, Chicago

Statue of Liberty, New York

Big Ben, London

The Eiffel Tower, Paris

Istambul’s minarets

Red Square, Moscow

There are only 100 watches and each costs £150. You can find out more info, including where to buy here.

Another Set Of Examples Of Brilliant Street Art.

Street art is honestly by far my favorite medium for visually expressing ideas.  It literally comes in all different forms, and can inspire, scare, bewilder, warn, and make people laugh.  This is probably my 9th or 10th street art collection on this blog in the last 2 years.  So although I think one or two photos may have been repeated in previous posts, check out all these incredibly interesting pieces of street art.

Take Some Lessons From A Winner.

Every once in a while, people drop something, quickly catch it before it hits the ground, and feel a split second of coolness that happened that way.  But when you have skills like Thomas Becker, things like that are only the top of the iceberg.  His “A Normal Day” videos are blatant violations of the word impossible.  Doing all sorts or ridiculous tricks like throwing toast across the kitchen and having it land perfectly in the toaster, or hurling a rolled up newspaper directly into the mailbox might not sound too hard in theory, but watch the video below to see just how cool it looks.  Winning.

Patience Productions is Thomas Becker and Sebastian Stahlhofen. We first came up with idea for “A Normal Day” at the beginning of 2006. Since then, we produced three videos in the “A Normal Day” series and have turned the project into a hobby. To perform the tricks, it takes a great deal of creativity and skills. Therefore we do not claim to master the tricks at all times. Instead, we’d like to show that impossible tricks are still possible to perform.

Real Life Disney Princesses.

It’s the childhood dream of many girls to become a Disney princess… and now photographer Ryan Astamendi is giving a few grown women the chance. His series of surprisingly accurate photographs puts models into pitch perfect costume, makeup and hair to create what looks like the movie screen come to life. As you can see in the photographs, the models vary in their real-life likeness to the characters, proving that Astamendi is skillful at creating the look he desires.

Astamendi talk about the sleeping beauty photo shoot, “I put between 30 and 40 hours of work into this, which seems to be the norm for these Disney character projects.” What really surprised him about the project? The models name was actually… Princess.  What’s next in the series? He’s currently finishing up work on Rapunzel. Be sure to check out his website RyPhoto for future updates or see the the book The Art of the Disney Princess which features his work. And one more thing: not every girl wants to be a princess… so we included Astamendi’s stunning rendition of the seductive Jessica Rabbit.

Omega Seamaster James Bond 50th Anniversary Watch.

To celebrate fifty years of James Bond films, Omega is releasing a special update of  their Seamaster Diver 300m James Bond watch.  The watch offers Omega’s caliber 2507 co-axial movement, with the winding rotor designed to look like a bullet. It’s also inscribed with ’50 years of James Bond.’  The James Bond 50th Anniversary watch has been created in two sizes, 41 mm and  36 mm. The 36mm case size has a diamond index at the 7 o’clock position.  The 41 mm version is being produced in a limited edition of 11’007 pieces and the 36 mm version in a limited edition of 3’007 pieces.  No mention of price as yet, but as both a classic watch and a limited edition, this is unlikely be one of the cheaper watches on the market.  Interestingly, 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film series — though fifty years ago Bond was not wearing an Omega at all.  The classic timepiece has been worn by 007 in every adventure since GoldenEye, when it replaced the Rolex Submariner.

V-Nasty Performing @SlimsSF.

Not just Kreayshawn’s right hand woman, V-Nasty has risen in the spotlight through her own sharp rhymes and often dirty mouth. We’re interviewing the blossoming White Girl Mob member and want to know what you want to ask her.Not just Kreayshawn’s right hand woman, V-Nasty has risen in the spotlight through her own sharp rhymes and often dirty mouth. The blossoming White Girl Mob member V-Nasty performs at Slim’s in San Francisco on Wednesday, February 1.  Check out the song by Gucci Mane & V-Nasty “Millions Every Month” by clicking the pic below.

Art Deco Super Hero Posters.

Superheroes have always been pretty damn cool. But in the 90s, thanks mainly to Joel Schumacher, they started to descend into embarrassment.  Cut to 2012 and things are rather different. With a range of acclaimed, non-garish outings, superheroes are officially “in” again… Thanks mainly to Christopher Noland.  Proof of this fact can be found right in front of your eyes. This selection of posters gives a classy art deco spin to some iconic justice-seekers. They’ve all been created by the very talented Grégoire Guillemin.

Play A Tree Like A Record?

What would the trunk of a tree sound like if a cross section of it were played like an LP? With his creation Years, Bartholomäus Traubeck attempts to answer that question by using a turntable, PlayStation Eye Camera, a stepper motor to control the arm, and computer running Ableton Live. As you’ll hear in the video below, the rings of the tree trunk, as interpreted by this piece, create an eerie and ominous piano track that sounds like it was taken from psychological horror film. Who knew trees were so emo?

15 Photos Of Places To See Before You Die.

Norway

One of my favorite shows “An Idiot Abroad: The Bucket List” documents Karl Pilkington on his journey around the world to do things that random people have voted on as their pre-mortem wishes.  The concept of going around the world to have different experiences is a fascination shared by billions of people, and coincidentally most of them have cameras.  I came across an immensely beautiful collection of photos from people visiting gorgeous places from all over the world, and after watching an episode of “An Idiot Abroad”, I just felt the need to share.  Check the method below.

YMCMB In Australia.

It seems like Derrik G. is always on the move with the YMCMB crew now a days.  In his most recent video, he documents Baby’s progress through Hawaii to Australia for some shows on the “I Am Still Music” world tour.  Check the video below.

Jay Ant – ‘Change Up’.

There’s some speculation around the Bay as to why rappers here haven’t had the international success that artists from other parts of the States have.  Not being consistent, a lack of sonic diversity, and under-qualified management are all theories, but luckily Jay Ant suffers from NONE of those pitfalls.    It hasn’t been more than 4 days, and Jay Ant has already dropped another track to the web.  (The other being ‘On My Mind’ with Iamsu ft. Mike Dash E.) With a gambit of talents, and all the right elements to support a talented flow, I’m sure you’ll be hearing much more from Jay Ant very soon.  To watch the video for ‘On My Mind’, check the method below.

GM’s Smart Glass Brings The Future To Life.

Long car rides, typically of the road trip variety can often be exhausting in their monotony and isolation. We don’t often think of car rides as anything more than a means of reaching a destination. We become disassociated with the other people, cars and environments that are inevitably surrounding us.

GM’s new Windows of Opportunity project was begun to explore innovative ways to use interactive technologies to create a more interesting driving experience. The project, which was inspired by psychological studies that show passengers typically feel disconnected from their environments, uses smart glass to generate augmented reality digital layers over passing landscapes.

The company commissioned students from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel to explore unique ways to use the smart glass technology. They were given full creative control to develop different applications regardless of whether they would be produced. The apps are primarily games but help to cultivate a stronger relationship between their users and their environments.

Carmel Candy’s – ‘Baby Got Back’.

Just having a pretty face can only get people so far in life.  Having a good business mind, direction for your vision, and an unstopable work ethic are all things needed to make it.  Some folks have it, some folks don’t, but other have that and even more.  Being able to stop taking yourself too seriously, drop your guard and have fun may not be the only key to success, but it damn sure makes things more fun.  Luckily, for a singing, business owning, knockout model, a bit of fun is never a bad thing.  About a week ago, my boy (The U.K. Playboy Club’s) DJ Roy Rovelli hit me up and asked if the girl in the video below was the same Carmel Candy I had interviewed in 2011.  Much to my surprise, the video he attached was her spoof of ‘Baby Got Back’, a video that took all of 6 seconds to get me laughing.  The spoof shows Candy displaying her radiant sense of humor, and shaking the ass that has helped gain some of her fans.  When I asked her about it, this is what she said.
With this video I just wanted to show that I have a fun side, whilst still being able to be sexy.  I have a really crazy personality which doesnt really come across in my photo’s.  This video really shows that I am a performer at heart.
I hope you enjoy it!
Anyone who’s that beautiful, and is willing to get on camera and make a face like this… has to have a good sense of humor, and thats proof that Carmel Candy makes for far more than just a pretty picture.

What Your Body Says When You Have Sex.

Andrej Krahne was tasked with communicating the joy of using Durex condoms, and came up with quite an interesting set of photos.  A textual x-ray of sexual feelings makes for a very “penetrating” look into what both men and woman (MIGHT) think during certain sexual acts.  All in all, its quite an interesting idea, and the photo series definitely catches the eye (although I don’t know any guy that really enjoys head with a condom on).  Check the method.

b.Funk – ‘Check Yo Mind’.

Every time I throw up a post about b.FUNK, I get at least 2 or 3 emails with people saying that I rep their movement because the members are from my hometown.  For the last time, this simply isn’t true, even if I didn’t know some members since I was a pre-teen, graduate from the same high school, rehearse, and rock shows in the Poconos with bFunk, I’d still endorse their music just as hard.  The band has an incredibly unique sound, covered by B.C.’s signature flow, which makes every song a memorable one.  Their latest video “Check Yo Mind” has an original, yet familiar feel to it, and adds a good visualization to an already great song.

Operation Global Blackout.

This past week, an innocuous YouTube video was posted titled, “Anonymous Message to Congress.” The video was made in response to the shutting down of MegaUpload last Thursday by the federal government. This, as we reported, led to Anonymous’ largest coordinated attack in their history with over 5,000 people taking down over 10 federal and industry Web sites.

The video, which you can watch in its entirety below, is phase one of #OpGlobalBlackout.
They do recognize that MegaUpload contained copyrighted content, but say that the take down was not about copyrighted materials. Anonymous demands that MegaUpload be reinstated within 72 hours.

Anonymous claims that they have gained access to the servers for the United Nations, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, US Bank, Capital One, Chase Bank, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. If their demands are not met, they will take down all of these servers.

For the banks, Anonymous claims that they have the account info of every client at these banks. They want to reassure citizens, however, that they are not going to compromise their information. They only want to make a statement to Congress.

As for Congress, they have a very special message – “To those who support PIPA and SOPA. To those congressmen who want to vote yes on these bills. We are not fucking playing.”

This has essentially turned into a game of chicken between Anonymous and the U.S. Government with the Internet in the crossfire.

The 1967 Camaro StreetFighter.

Classic cars have always been a source of mysticism and awe for me.  Its just baffling that vehicles in the late 60′s and early 70′s can blow some of the most technologically advanced racers of the current times out of water.  The power of classic American muscle cars is truly something to be marveled at, and the pictures I found of a 1967 Camaro “StreetFighter” just remind me of that.  Unfortunately I couldn’t find any information about the owner of said car, or the specific modifications made to the car, but the pictures are quite impressive none the less.

Hennessy Beauté du Siècle Cognac.

Hennessy, a spirits division of LVMH, has launched its new limited-edition Hennessy Beauté du Siècle cognac with Schiphol Airport Retail at Amsterdam Schiphol airport.  The cognac marks the centenary of Kilian Hennessy, the sixth generation after the founder of the cognac house.  Beauté du Siècle is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional liqueur chest containing a carafe of cognac, created by master blender and taster Yann Fillious and more than 10 artists and craftsmen.  Valued at €150,000 ($190,000), the carafe of cognac is a blend of around 100 specially selected eaux-de-vie, the oldest of which dating back to 1907.  The cognac is presented in a Baccarat crystal decanter in the form of sample flasks used by the House of Hennessy.

Nicki Minaj – Stupid Hoe (Official Video)

Nicki Minaj has been all over the scale lyrically, at times pulling out some clever, witty, memorable punchlines, and other times, well… she seems to just spend her time in the booth goofing off.  I wasn’t exactly sure why the legendary Hype Williams teamed up with her to make a video for the track ‘Stupid Hoe’, but all I can assume is that they were just having fun.  Check out the video below.

11 Things NOT To Put On Facebook.

According to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s unofficial mission is to make “the world more open and connected.” But there are limits to how open you should be on Facebook and while you might enjoy sharing photos and status updates, there are some pieces of information you would do well never to share.

Who’s watching your moves on Facebook? Employers, stalkers, federal agents, and even insurance companies have been known to scan Facebook profiles for information. Just as troubling are reports of Facebook account hackers, who put users at risk for identity fraud. Even if you safeguard personal information with a “Friends Only” setting, there is a chance you’ve friended someone whom you barely know or have never met.  So watch out folks, you never know who’s looking.

S

Your Birth Date And Place

While it might be nice to hear from Facebook well-wishers on your birthday, you should think twice before posting your full birthday. Beth Givens, executive director of the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse advises that revealing your exact birthday and your place of birth is like handing over your financial security to thieves. Furthermore, Carnegie Mellon researchers recently discovered that they could reconstruct social security numbers using an individual’s birthday and place of birth.  Rather than remove your birthday entirely, you could enter a date that’s just a few days off from your real birthday.

S

Your Mother’s Maiden Name

“Your mother’s maiden name is an especially valuable bit of information, not least since it’s often the answer to security questions on many sites,” writes the New York Times. Credit card companies, your wireless service provider, and numerous other firms frequently rely on this tidbit to protect your personal information.

S

Your Home Address

Publicizing your home address enables everyone and anyone with whom you’ve shared that information to see where you live, from exes to employers. Opening up in this way could have negative repercussions: for example, there have been instances in which burglars have used Facebook to target users who said they were not at home.

S

Any Trips Away From Home

CBSMoneyWatch.com warns social network users that counting down the days to a vacation can be as negligent as stating how many days the vacation will last. “There may be a better way to say ‘Rob me, please’ than posting something along the lines of: ‘Count-down to Maui! Two days and Ritz Carlton, here we come!’ on a social networking site. But it’s hard to think of one. Post the photos on Facebook when you return, if you like. But don’t invite criminals in by telling them specifically when you’ll be gone,” MoneyWatch writes.  Don’t post status updates that mention when you will be away from home, advises New York Times columnist Ron Lieber. When you broadcast your vacation dates, you might be telling untrustworthy Facebook “friends” that your house is empty and unwatched. “Remind ‘friends’ that you have an alarm or a guard dog,” Lieber writes.  Although new features like Facebook Places encourage you to check in during outings and broadcast your location (be it at a restaurant, park, or store), you might think twice even before sharing information about shorter departures from your home. “Don’t post messages such as ‘out for a run’ or ‘at the mall shopping for my sweetie,’” Identity Theft 911 cautions. “Thieves could use that information to physically break in your house.”

S

Your Inappropriate Photos

By now, nearly everyone knows that racy, illicit, or otherwise incriminating photos posted on Facebook can cost you a job (or worse). But even deleted photos could come back to haunt you. Ars Technica recently discovered that Facebook’s servers can store deleted photos for an unspecified amount of time. “It’s possible,” a Facebook spokesperson told Ars Technica, “that someone who previously had access to a photo and saved the direct URL from our content delivery network partner could still access the photo.”

S

Confessionals

Flubbing on your tax returns? Can’t stand your boss? Pulled a ‘dine and dash?’ Don’t tell Facebook. The site’s privacy settings allow you to control with whom you share certain information–for example, you can create a Group that consists only of your closest friends–but, once posted, it can be hard to erase proof of your illicit or illegal activities, and difficult to keep it from spreading.  There are countless examples of workers getting the axe for oversharing on Facebook, as well as many instances in which people have been arrested for information they shared on the social networking site. (Click here to see a few examples of Facebook posts that got people canned.)

S

Your Phone Number

Watch where you post your phone number. Include it in your profile and, depending on your privacy settings, even your most distant Facebook “friends” (think exes, elementary school contacts, friends-of-friends) might be able to access it and give you a ring. Sharing it with Facebook Pages can also get you in trouble. Developer Tom Scott created an app called Evil that displays phone numbers published anywhere on Facebook. According to Scott, “There are uncountable numbers of groups on Facebook called ‘lost my phone!!!!! need ur numbers!!!!!’ [...] Most of them are marked as ‘public’, and a lot of folks don’t understand what that means in Facebook’s context — to Facebook, ‘public’ means everyone in the world, whether they’re a Facebook member or not.”

S

Your Child’s Name

Identity thieves also target children. “Don’t use a child’s name in photo tags or captions,” writes Consumer Reports. “If someone else does, delete it by clicking on Remove Tag.  If your child isn’t on Facebook and someone includes his or her name in a caption, ask that person to remove the name.”

S

Your ‘Risky’ Behavior

You take your classic Camaro out for street racing, soar above the hills in a hang glider, or smoke like a chimney? Insurers are increasingly turning to the web to figure out whether their applicants and customers are putting their lives or property at risk, according to Insure.com.  There have been additional reports that insurance companies may adjust users’ premiums based what they post to Facebook. Given that criminals are turning to high-tech tools like Google Street View and Facebook to target victims, “I wouldn’t be surprised if, as social media grow in popularity and more location-based applications come to fore, insurance providers consider these in their pricing of an individual’s risk,” says Darren Black, head of home insurance for Confused.com.

S

The Layout Of Your Home

Identity Theft 911 reminds Facebook users never to post photos that reveal the layout of an apartment or home and the valuables therein.

S

Your Profile On Public Search

Do you want your Facebook profile–even bare-bones information like your gender, name, and profile picture–appearing in a Google search? If not, you should should block your profile from appearing in search engine results. Consumer Reports advises that doing so will “help prevent strangers from accessing your page.” To change this privacy setting, go to Privacy Settings under Account, then Sharing on Facebook.

The TAG Heuer Mikrogirder 2000.

I love watches, and the other day my boy Andreas from Germany put me onto a very unique one.  Meet the TAG Heuer Mikrogirder 2000 Concept watch- a dual-assortment, ultra high-beat watch with a Chronograph beating at 7.2 million times every hour, meaning that the watch can time events to 5/ 10,000th of a second. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of the new TAG Heuer Mikrogirder is not that TAG Heuer have put out a watch twice as fast as the Mirkotimer- it’s the fact that they’ve done it with a movement that- again- reinvents mechanical movements. The 2011 Mikrotimer had no balance wheel. The 2009 Pendulum had no hairspring. The 2012 Mikrogirder has neither.

As you’d expect, the party trick of the Mikrogirder is the flying central chronograph hand, which rotates twice 20 times per second- twice as fast as the Mirkotimer.  TAG Heuer talk about the movement in terms of being accurate to 5/10,000th of a second, rather than 1/ 2,000th of a second. Same thing you might say, but the claim is that for the first time it is possible to break apart the 1/ 10,000th fraction of time. Having said that, there is a large “2000″ at the top of the dial and in the name, so you can see it however you prefer.

Donald Glover – Weirdo.

I’ve said publicly many a time that one of my favorite art forms is stand up comedy.  After a rough week of work, there’s nothing else that I enjoy more than just sitting down and watching stand up for hours.  This week my comedian of choice was Donald Glover, star of the show ‘Community’ who also goes by the rap alias “Childish Gambino”.  Below is his hysterical stand up titled “Weirdo”.

The Lake House…

Lake Tahoe, Nevada is among the most sought after destinations for dream homes. The beautiful  views of the large freshwater lake located in the Sierra Nevada make Tahoe the perfect get away destination.  There are quite a few waterfront properties lining the lake, few as breathtaking as ‘The Lake House’ designed by San Francisco based studio Mark Dziewulski Architect. Built nearly 6 years ago, the project was started in June 2006 and took until February 2010 to complete the extravagant home.

This monstrous home covers over 8,694 square feet of contemporary beauty that includes 5 floors, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, six level glass stairwell, and of course a glass elevator to make accessing your desired floor a breeze. If you are looking to pick this masterpiece up, this half acre lot in Incline Village, Crystal Bay, Nevada, USA is currently listed at $43 million.
