Behind The Scenes Of ‘Watch The Throne’.

The production company Voyr teamed up with Kanye West to give the world an interesting view of things behind the curtain of the Watch The Throne Tour.  I personally can’t get enough of Kanye West and his strong minded confidence (that most would consider being pure arrogance).  But the man believes in himself so much that he has the ability to make his dreams a reality faster than even those around him though possible.  Check out what he has to say in the behind the scenes look below.

‘By The Water’ – You Can Help Support Thai Flood Victims.

‘By The Water’ is a Bay Area effort to help support the victims of the floods that have plagued the country all year round.  Although you may not have though of Thailand recently (unless you’ve watched The Hangover II in the last few days) just take a second to remember that floods this damaging have hit the United States, and millions made a fuss when the government didn’t do as much as they could have to help.  Club Recess, Myself, Earpeace Records, and the rest of the organizers of this event want to try to do everything in our power to try and raise funds to help a country in need.  Come through to Club Recess on 443 Broadway Street in downtown San Francisco this Friday night to help us raise funds for the cause.  And just incase you might be unaware of how bad things are in capital Bangkok, take a look at the video below.  All you have to do is come through and party to help provide for people in need.

The Hublot F1 King Power Interlagos Watch.

Hublot has joined the stream of limited edition models by issuing its new F1 King Power Interlagos watch.  This marks the second new Hublot F1 watch unveiled this month and the eighth model overall for the Hublot F1 collection.  It is dedicated to the Formula 1 Grande Premio Petrobras do Brasil 2011 competition, the last Grand Prix of this season’s Formula One World Championship.  The Hublot F1 King Power Interlagos watch comes on a hornback alligator leather strap with blue stitching.

Scientists Can Have Fun Too.

No matter what your profession, people always like to try and a little fun at the work place, and scientists are no different.  You’ll always have your pranksters, and the co-workers who like to have a laugh at someone else’s expense, but sometimes people can take things a bit too far… Enter the pneumatic cannon.

A pneumatic cannon is a pipe-based weapon which uses air pressure (pneumatic), propellant, or propane/gas, or combustion of a gaseous fuel, to launch projectiles at high speeds. First invented during the 1980s by Conor Conor Gaul the popularity of the pneumatic cannon is widespread. They are built to fire all sorts of projectiles, not always for practical use. The projectile can be dangerous and result in life-threatening injuries, including cranial fractures, if a person is hit.

Long story short, if you point a pneumatic cannon large enough at a person… you’re going to mess someone up.  The guy in this video is pure proof of that.

The Best E Cards Ever.

Around the holidays, everyone is looking for that perfect card to say exactly what they want.  Some folk write their own cards, others buy them, and then there are the few that pick from e-cards and just email them to people.  Until this morning, I was under the impression that the e-card sender were weak… but when I saw someecards.com my mind was blown.  Regardless of the intent you may have, they have a perfectly twisted card for you.  For the first time in life, I’ve seen a collection of cards that sound just like things I would write if I knew no one would read them.  Check out all the 20,000 + cards they have.  Brilliant.

Lets Make The Piano Gangster Again.

While drawing out the logistics on a new music project I’m taking on this holiday season, I was searching the web for some nice live covers of popular Hip Hop songs, and I came across “YoungPianoTV”.  A young kid name Lucas who seems to be able to restructure any beat (and even lyrical notes) on his piano.  Exhibiting a great ear for the composition of a song, all his covers are spot on recreations of the tracks he’s emulating.  I definitely recommend taking a look at his expansive library of Top 40′s covers, and don’t forget to hit his facebook page.  Props to you Lucas.

The Bonsai 420 Shoe.

The Todd Bratrud-designed series of “420″ inspired shoes has become a Nike SB springtime tradition. And several Bratrud designs in the series – Cheech & Chong, the Skunk Dunk, have been among the most sought-after SB releases in recent years. For 420 2012, Nike SB has given Bratrud the boat shoe-derived Stefan Janoski to work with – a shoe which already has some history with reefer culture. The California-based artist has taken the gum-rubber sole used on some of the more popular Janoski releases, and matched it to a bone suede upper. Hunter green serves as the complimentary color, used for piping on the midsole and upper, and for laces and tongue tag. Overall, less of a heady vibe than the past Bratrud 420 designs – Nike did catch some mild flak for the Cheech & Chong release – but by any measure a solid release for fans of the Janoski. Check out images after the jump, and stay tuned for a release in late April 2012.

Ludacris ft. Waka Flacka – Rich & Flexin.

Earlier this week, I put up another new Ludacris music video, in which the post surrounding it was focused on the “beef” between Luda and Big Sean.  This video however is quite the opposite.  Luda tag teams with Waka Flacka to deliver what I personally think is one of the most under-rated songs of 2011.  I’ve had a hold on this track for about 4 months now, and just waiting for it to get big on the radio, but no dice.  I’m hoping the video will help boost the track’s popularity.  Check the method.

Meredith In Her Place.

On the trail for new models to post, I found myself once again scrolling through the beauties at “MeInMyPlace”.  Kudos to those men btw.  But one of their recent subjects Meredith had caught my eye because I recognized her from Inked Magazine (and we all know I love tattoos).   The guys at MIMP say she is quiet, but not to let that fool you.  Gorgeous and some of the wildest tattoos I’ve ever seen, I’m sure tons of viewers have already asked her what her next tattoo will be.

The Illest Paper Cuts.

Peter Callesen thrives on creating art from paper, rather on it. Using paper only as a source, he creates beautiful sculptural works. Each work is made by cutting out one sheet of paper, and using the removed scraps to create figures, buildings, and other objects. His work ranges from 2D to 3D. These sheets range from small a4 size or as big as 7m by 5m. The materialization of a flat piece of paper becomes a magical process for him. Callesen’s  interest grows while the possibilities as practically endless.

Peter Callesen was born in Denmark, 1967. He attended Goldsmiths College in London, as well as other Art & Architecture schools. Currently Peter hosts many exhibitions showcasing his incredible work. While judging his crafts, you start to see all of the challenges he faced midway through. Think about how he planned things out, and how easy it is to mess up the whole piece if you miss-judge the cutting process. Peter explains that he themes his works based on classical fairy tales, personal interests, and past memories. This shows a great dedication he caters to each and everyone of his works.

Wanna Rent A Plane?

Virgin America is offering a deal on deals site Giltcity.com to take a round-trip flight for you and up to 145 of your friends for $60,000.  The flight would take you on a full-size Airbus A320, complete with in-flight wifi, seatback entertainment systems, and in-flight meals and drinks.  The offer is good for a round-trip flight to any of Virgin America’s nonstop domestic locations, excluding Mexico.  Virgin America said it is also “throwing in a few extra in-flight amenities” to the Gilt member and guests.  Travel website Jaunted.com notes that the $60,000 price tag works out to $410 per person if split evenly among 146 passengers.  Additionally, the airline is allowing the Gilt member to permanently name a plane in its fleet by painting it on the side of the aircraft.

Colored White.

Working as closely with models as I do has given me the opportunity to closely examine what it takes to turn an provocative concept into a successful shoot.  One of the most important things is the make up artist, (not just make up).  The make up artist has to combine his or her vision with the thoughts and concepts of the photographer while still conforming to the intent of the shoot.  If they can do this, and have a photographer as skilled as Jorge Ibanez, things always tend to look amazing.  This wild looking collection is impressive for lots of reasons, but I personally feel like a good chunk of the credit is due to the make up artists and hairstylists.

Make Up Artist: Valerie Pachur

Hair Stylists: Mariana Padilla

Models: Eva Pimentel, Mariana Sanchez, Sofimak Hernandez

N*ggas At The Victoria Secret Show.

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show came and went recently, but with quite a fuss this year.  From what I heard via an inside source, all the models this year were “Plus Sized”. (I can’t even TYPE that without rolling my eyes) But by some technical definition, any runway model over a certain size (4 or 6 or some such foolishness) is considered “plus sized”.  But while I was watching the show, all the arguing about this issue was going on until everyone stopped to watch Jay-Z and Kanye West perform their newest hit ‘N*ggas In Paris’ on the runway.  The performance was quite entertaining (with Kanye in his leather chaps), as the models passed down the stage during the song.  Check the video from the show below.

DJ Storm ft. Lil Wayne, Cam’ron, GOV, Lil Kim & Three 6 Mafia – ‘Hott Sauce’.

Click the pic to listen.

Weather many folks are familiar with “The Mix Up” or not, it remains one of my favorite collections of music ever. (And I SWEAR it’s not just because I made it). The “album” consists of just under a dozen tracks that are comprised of main stream rap lyrics blended with more classic/underground hip hop beats and sprinkled with tons of samples from popular culture. The premise and subject matter of each song is different and each song has it’s own particular flavor, but my favorite track to this day is “Hott Sauce”. I have a bit of a fascination/addiction to the little physical act described in the song, and listening to it makes me laugh every single time. With lyrics from Lil Wayne, GOV, Cam’ron, Three 6 Mafia and Lil Kim, “Hott Sauce” is not one to play in front of your parents, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it none the less.  Click the pic to listen.

Christmas In Tokyo?

Even though Christmas is not a traditional Japanese celebration, few places in the world mark December 25 with such gusto as Tokyo.  The Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo has announced a WISH.forJapan Christmas package that is available December 10-25.  10 percent of the price, which starts at Y52,000 per night will go to support people affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck northeast Japan in March.  The hotel, which opened in March 2009 in the top 11 floors of the 37-storey Marunouchi Trust Tower alongside Tokyo Station, launched its WISH.forJapan charitable program immediately after the disasters struck. The package includes a special bottle of spumante, made by Bottega of Italy, which created a one-off white bottle featuring the logo of the program, as well as WISH candy made by Papabubble, which is originally from Barcelona.  Guests will also enjoy a Christmas cake made by the hotel’s executive pastry chef and breakfast at the Restaurant Piacere or The Lobby Lounge, as well as access to the hotel’s health club and swimming pool.

Ashley Richter.

Ashley Richter is a born and raised Floridian. A few years ago she started college with intentions on attending law school. At that same time in her life she found her talents in front of the camera.  After her first couple years of doing print work she was asked to act in a small film.  Richter’s confidence pushed her right through the role and broadened her career into the acting world.

“I wont settle for less than what I deserve. I am a dedicated future law student who is currently finishing my degree while I work on obtaining an internship with a federal organization.  I am a model and actress who loves being in front of a camera where I have learned to express my inner self. And most important I am a daughter, sister, relative, and friend in which I try to love, care, and be the best at. So from here I can only say I plan on improving the roles I already have.”

She stands at 5 foot 7, and boasts a sexy 34/24/25 profile.  Although Ashley has appeared in Black Men Magazine, Opus Magazine, and even getting a spot as a model in a Nike collection, I’m personally quite interested to see her in more films.

The Crystal LED Watch.

Inspired by Swarovsky Signity watches, this timepiece by designer Ilya Yakovlev features a surface made from real crystals backlit by LEDs. You can increase the luminosity and change colors to suit your mood. Is it real? In the mind of Yakovlev yes. Is it expensive? I’m gonna hedge my bet and say hell yeah.

Jason Lee And The Girls.

Jason Lee. A wedding photographer by heart, who is tasked with the duty of capturing a person’s most important moment of his life. It seems Jason keeps that task very close to him when with family too.  Jason’s charming and interesting photography of his children make everyday tasks performed by a child seem so much more interesting. Not only that, but Jason captures the important moments in their life through a more different method, with a different style.  These two little girls are totally adorable, and look even more so thanks to Jason Lee and his amazing photography.

Oh My God, Becky Look At Her Backpack.

Got some junk in your trunk? Need a backpack with some extra back? Well let me ASSk you something.  Would you be caught with your pants down without one of these “female form” inspired backpacks dubbed “The Peach” by Yen-Hsiang Skeet Wang?  (YEAH… the man’s last names are Skeet and Wang.)  The designer felt it necessary to tell us that he is enphatuated with the female form.  So what better than to design a backpack that he thinks is really erotic. (Personally I like the asses on the women I walk around with to be a bit more well rounded)  But Yen says a woman’s gluteus maximus was designed to be attractive to men, we would not procreate if we were not lured by their subtle charm.

The idea behind this project is to recycle products in a new and novel way. We were asked to think freely in the use of materials and applications for the project such as creating art pieces, user experience and enhancing the way we work. For Peach I used mannequins, I decided to use human like display forms and breathe new life into them to add a sense of fun to an otherwise spiritless form. I used the discarded lower torso of a female mannequin and combined it with something unrelated.
