Nissan keeps adding more to its flagship GT-R sports car to help keep competing alongside its rivals. A new update for the 2012 model year in Europe pegs the engine output at an impressive 542-hp, over the previous year’s 530-hp number. Billed as a 2012 model year car overseas, this improvement, along with a slew of others, is expected to debut on a US-spec version for 2013. (US-Spec models will come officially rated at 545-hp).
Along with the improved engine output of 550 PS (542-hp) and 632 Nm (466 lb-ft), Nissan also claims improved efficiency and an enhanced transmission “feel” thanks to a new shift fork arm, a firmer flywheel housing bearing and a new differential oil.
A stiffer body structure now promises improved rigidity, while Nissan has also developed a new asymmetric suspension, with a stiffer spring rate on the left side and an imbalanced wheel load (when stationary), for right-hand drive versions. This new arrangement is designed to compensate for RHD models where the car is weighted to the right side thanks to both the location of the propeller shaft and the driver. In addition, Nissan has announced a new track version of the GT-R for right-hand drive markets, like Japan and the UK.

A man suspected of smuggling marijuana across the U.S. border from Mexico is detained by U.S. Border patrols agents in Douglas, Ariz., Sept. 26, 2011. The area, which used to be one of the major crossing points in Arizona, illustrates the cat-and-mouse nature of stopping crossers, the permeability of the much-ballyhooed border fence and the fact that, no matter the dire rhetoric often heard in political circles, crossings at this stretch of border are nowhere near what they once was. The year 2011 has brought trials, tribulations, beautiful life changes, and incredible opportunities, but one thing has brightened up my year in a unique way that nothing else could have. The official return of “An Idiot Abroad”. Take a look at the extended trailer for the return of one of my favorite shows below.
There aren’t too many people raised in my generation who weren’t familiar with the epic genius of the Chappelle Show. If there are those who are unfamiliar with the show, there’s not a doubt in my mind that they’ve heard the words “I’m RICK JAMES B*TCH” at least once. The show and its comedy were both unforgettable and edgy to the point where every episode in the show’s second season was a hit in its own way. One of my favorite sketches was the “Black Bush” sketch, where Dave Chappelle illustrated (quite well) how a less cunning George W. Bush may have appeared to the general public. The original sketch can be seen here or by clicking the picture above.
Here however, are some bits and pieces that were left out of the Black Bush sketch. For anyone who’s filmed anything scripted before, you know as well as I do, that some of the best moments come from things off script. The outtakes from Chappelle’s ‘Black Bush’ sketch are no exception. Check the method to relive this hilarious sketch from 2004.
Although I’m a huge movie buff, I do have to admit that I wasn’t THE biggest fan of the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ trilogy. That being said, I’m well aware that they were some of the defining films of my generation, and when I heard (on HBO’s ‘Entourage’ of all places) that ‘The Hobbit’ would be getting a silver screen debut, I was excited at the notion. Now the first trailer has come out, and I’m sure I’ll be one of the first people there opening weekend to see how things in the Shire were before Frodo was head hobbit in charge. Below is the films official synopsis, but click the pic above to watch the preview.
“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever … Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths ofguile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.
Giulini Wever, the actress, model, tv host and martial artist is originally from the island of Curacao. Her ethnicity is a mixture of Dutch, German, Chinese and Latin. (Damn). Aside from English, she happens to be fluent in Spanish, Dutch and her native dialect, Papiamento. Her ambitious, determination and focus has landed her in roles like ‘Dem Girls’ from David Guetta and Nicki Minaj, Kush by Dr. Dre and Snoop, and not to mention Jamie Fox and Kanye West’s ‘Digital Girl’. She’s also graced the screen in videos with Britney Spears and Akon.
During three hectic weeks in 2008, Tallinn based illustrator and tattoo artist Kristjan Luiga designed a cool can for Estonian beer brewer A. Le Coq. The design clearly gets its inspiration from graffiti and the twisted design looks almost like a street art version of Penrose stair. The cans are no longer in production so you will have to make due with a couple of images of Kristjan Luiga wonderful design after the jump.
I had a conversation with one of my best friends about the 2012 elections, and I made some pretty logical points. During the course of that little talk, a third party asked if I was quoting comedian Carlos Mencia. After a little research, I found the spot they were talking about. Check the method below. All in all, Carlos is just happy that we have a president in office. See Carlos’ new special “New Territory,”
The gallery surrounding this post unfortunately wasn’t given to me with much information attached, however I do happen to know that name of the exhibit is External Stimuli be the amazing artist Peter Kogler. His work spans large spaces, and makes use of the walls and the area in a room to make his artistic point. Long story short, uber-dope. Check the method.

Two new Bentley Continental V8 models will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on 9th January 2012. The new Continentals will come in GT coupe and GTC convertible versions with power from a turbocharged 4.0-liter eight-cylinder engine that puts out 500 hp. With a new 8-speed automatic transmission directing the power to the road, the V8 Continental will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than five seconds and have a top speed of more than 180 mph. No official details have been released on fuel economy and emission figures, but Bentley informs us there is a 40 percent reduction compared to the W12 model. Since the launch of the original GT in 2003, the W12-engined Continental range has gone from strength to strength with over 50,000 sales worldwide.
In the 2000 American version of “Godzilla”, the big lizard got his name from a misnomer of the words “Go-Jira”. In the movie they were trying to make the point that it may be a bit difficult to translate from Japanese to English. However, they never made the point that sometimes it might be hard there other way around. Here’s a visual tribute to the ineptitude of the translation skills of the land of the rising sun and other Asian countries. (For some reason, images on this list keep intermittently glitching, doubling up or disappearing. Rest assured that I’m constantly rectifying this issue, so if you encounter it, it should be fixed within the hour or so..)

Mark Mawson is quickly becoming one of my favorite photographers. One of his collections I put up recently titled “Aqueos Fluoreau” was one of the more stunning photo collections I’ve come across in a while. But the next collection I picked up on from him “The Bus Graveyard” is an whole different bowl of chili (so to speak.) Take a look at his pictures of the Bus Graveyard.
‘The Motto’ has been knocking around radio stations (especially on the west) for quite some time now. And with Drizzy, Wayne, and Tyga being in the Bay to film the video, the town was a twit with talk about when the video would drop. I got a hit on Twitter earlier today about the video now having any “Bay b*tches” in the melee, and I’ve been on the hunt for the video since then. The first time I was it, I was quite impressed with the fact that the entire video was filmed here instead of multiple locations, and I knew where damn near every single shot was taken. (Shout outs to Tyga’s verse that was shot in my favorite club.) All in all, the video is quite “Drake-esque” with very simple shots and not too much of a direction, but never the less, it delivers. Check the method below.

I know quite a few questions will be thrown my way right after readers glimpse the title. But I’m well aware that 2011 is almost long gone. That being the case, the folks over at ‘Reef Guys’ know their women no matter what year it is. Check the video of their brilliant 2011 calendar below. (And don’t ask why I didn’t know about it until now… I’ll be asking myself the same question all 2012.)
