Sherlock Holmes 2 and The Avengers.

As an avid Sherlock Holmes fan since I was a young lad, the release of the Guy Ritchie adaptation was the source of a lot of excitement. For anyone who hasn’t seen the 2009 Sherlock Holmes, the end of the movie was a blatant announcement that there would be a sequel. Of course I’ve been waiting patiently for a trailer, but I had to settle for 2 new posters released by Yahoo.

And as if the posters for “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” wasn’t enough to get my heart rate going, I also caught a glimpse of the new official Avengers poster.  It’s a hyper-realistic illustration of all the main characters, including Black Widow and Hawk-Eye.

Young Jeezy ft. Lil Wayne – Ballin (Official Video)

A few weeks back, I was excited to post up the behind the scenes video of Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne’s new collab, ‘Ballin’.  I was extra excited to see what the finished product would look like, because there was a scene with Jeezy in some sort of red cave that looked a bit peculiar.  But all in all seeing the completed video, I get the vibe they were going for.  And I also couldn’t help loving Jeezy’s line in the song “So much bread on me I could buy a Jersey home.”  Check the method below.

Dear Blank, Please Blank.

No matter who you are, at one point in life, you’ve received a letter.  Everyone has.  But not many letters read like these short, clever, comical works known as “Dear Blank, Please Blank”.  There are even entire websites dedicated to this format of humor, but the ones in these pictures are some I thought were among the best.  Check the method.

Sasha Shelton.

In a very short period of time, Sasha has become one of the hottest Urban models in the modeling industry.
She has the look, talent & measurements (32B-25-42). Because of this sexy combination, Sasha has been featured in some of the top urban mens & hip hop magazines, starred as the principal girl in some of the hottest music videos as well hosted several major conventions & events on the East Coast.  Sasha was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, but raised in Maryland. The multi-talented model graduated from Crossland High in Maryland, continued her education by attending Strayer University to study Business Management, then went on to study Fashion Design in Chicago.  In the Fall of 2007, Sasha was featured in an incredibly sexy 10 page layout in the 2nd annual flavors issue of SMOOTHgirl Magazine, along with special full page pictures on the Contents & Publishers pages of that issue.  Sasha was also selected #40 on the SMOOTHGirl 100 All-Time List featured in the Winter 2007 Holiday Issue of SMOOTH Magazine.  In the world of music videos, Ms. Shlton has been a featured girl in G-Unit “I Like The Way She Do It”, Jay-Z’s All-Star “Roc Boys” music video, as a principal girl in International Reggae star Shaggy’s “Bonafide Girl” music video featuring Rik Roc as well other music videos.

Zac Freeman’s Junk.

Since 1999, Zac began collecting junk found around often in the trash, then glued to a wooden substrate to form an image an image – in the case, portraits. His artworks are made by assembling on a large-scale (the pieces average about 28 “by 35″) and when viewed up close looks like a series of small objects stuck meaningless, but when seen from far away are impressive portraits.

Frederique Constant Runabout Moonphase Watch.

After my recent trip to my boy’s lake house on Lake Almanore, I’ve been obsessed with boating.  So when I found this watch from Frédérique Constant, I felt like I needed it. Since 2009, Swiss watch Manufacturer Frédérique Constant celebrates the legendary Runabout yachts of the roaring 20s by offering an attractive series of limited edition timepieces named “Runabout”.  To complete the best-selling range, the Geneva-based brand this year introduces a new version: the Runabout Moonphase.  Absolutely magnificent through its stunning design, this model is available in a limited quantity of just 1’888 pieces per material.  Featuring a case diameter of 43mm and presented in stainless steel or rose gold plated, the new Runabout Moonphase watches offer finely decorated silvered dials.  Traditionally, each Runabout timepiece comes with its own luxurious, handmade wooden case that echoes the passionate craftsmanship of the yachts.  Alongside the watch, a miniature reproduction of a classic Runabout boat can be found inside the unique gift box.

I’m Sprung vs. Toot It & Boot It (Mashup).

Click The Pic to Download.

So, it’s been about a year since I dropped a full mix CD, and I know quite a few people have expressed their discontent with this.  However, I am (and have been) working on a mix CD, to release with my buddy Carmel Candy sometime this summer.  I pitched Candy the idea in March, and anyone who knows me personally knows how much of a perfectionist I am.  So day after day I’ve been tweaking, re-tooling, re-editing, and remixing things for the 4th, 5th, and 6th times before letting anyone hear anything, and as this has been going on, people have grown impatient.  But luckily a close friend of mine broke into my computer and started listening to things, and when she heard a mashup of the love song “I’m Sprung” from T-Pain, and the anti-love song “Toot It & Boot It”, she threatened my life if I didn’t release it to the general public.  So keep in mind, this is the full version of the song.  When ‘Peaches & Carmel’ is released, this track WILL be on it, it may just sound a bit different.  So click the pic to take a listen.  (And Candy, I would have let you hear it first, but she threatened my life, lol.)

The Yellow Brick House.

This residence in the Pavilniai Regional Park, near the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius, is one of those that we just have to point out, although it is neither brand-new nor unfamiliar to many readers.  The confident combination of history and modern needs of an upscale family was achieved by the architectural firm G. Natkevicius & Partners.  Located by in the valley of river Vilnia that gave the city its name, the park and the city have a rich history with the oldest written records dating back to 1323.

The Puckoriu escarpment in the park has rare rock formations from the Ice Age. A large munitions factory on the site dates back to the 17th century.  It seems that in Vilnius private residents can buy pieces of such storied land, and when the current owner of the site – a banker and collector of antique books – bought it, a single bright-yellow building stood on it. On further examination, the owners found out that the building was part of the cannon foundry and it was built of valuable, historic Vilnius-made bricks.

The yellow house itself was not as big as the four-member family wanted their home to be, so they decided to build their new home of glass and erect it around the historic brick house. The exposed brick adds a tactile sexy feel and softens the potentially cold atmosphere of the glass structure. A sensuous curved opening, cut for the staircase that is outside the brick house, adds another focal point that works beautifully with the square elements around it.

The owners’ antique library is now in the basement of the old brick house, the kids’ rooms are on the ground floor, the master bedroom on the top floor. The other functions – living, dining, cooking, baths, garages – are all within the new glass structure. As a stunning bonus to the historically sensitive solution, the residents enjoy an amazing 360-degree view of the park. Sigh.

N.O.R.E.’s Return To The Studio w. The Alchemist.

I’m starting to develop an infatuation with videos that show the general public what it’s like to be in the studio during the creative process.  And this video of New York’s N.O.R.E. in the studio with Alchemist in Los Angeles is no different.  It’s not the most spectacularly filmed flick, but it does show the true nature of what happens when two great minds begin to collaborate.

The Manual Photography Cheat Sheet.

So many folks now a days are picking up their cameras with the hope of getting some amazing shots without knowing the basics of photography.  When my good friends at L.I.T.S.  (Living In The Stills) cooked up a little chart to help out the beginners, I figured I’d share it.  The Manual Photography Cheat Sheet will for sure help if you have the right camera.

If you already have the tools… You now posses the knowledge.  Go take the pictures.

Yela-Vision.

As many folks may already know, the once underground emcee Yelawolf signed with Shady earlier in the year.  Now that he’s out of the south, he’s all over the world, and his video blog proves just that.  Yela-Vision’s most recent post is essentially just random home made video from the road of everything from women, to the scenery, to the food, to just fooling around (even some subliminal shots of his boys caught sleeping on the trip.)  But it just goes to show how much fun friends can have on a road trip… Even tho Yela’s road trip was paid for by Eminem and company.  Check out his ‘Road To France’ below.

The Breguet Reveil Musical Watch.

Breguet has unveiled a new one-of-a-kind Reveil Musical watch, created specially for Only Watch 2011. It enchants the audience with a unique tune, “Castle in the sky”, played on demand or at a pre-set time.  The new Breguet watch boasts a round-shaped 48mm case in 18-carat white gold. The case-band is engraved with a musical stave.  The model reveals rounded and soldered lugs as well as screw-secured spring-bars. Its back side is engraved with the “Piece Unique” inscription.  Inside the timepiece is hidden an automatic mechanical cal. 0900 movement. It is numbered and marked with the Breguet signature. The mechanism incorporates a silicon escape-wheel and a lever as well as a Breguet balance spring.  Adorned with 59 jewels, the caliber operates at a frequency of 4Hz and offers a 55-hour power reserve.  The new Breguet Reveil Musical watch strikes the eye with a rotating hand-guilloched dial.  It depicts a child whose hand is reaching out to an adult hand, a symbolic gesture of the “inter-generational solidarity and support for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy”, according to Breguet.

Mind Bending With A 1 Dollar Bill.

I know so many people with their own conspiracy theories, and wild thoughts on the U.S. government and their theorized “underhanded” tactics.  If that wasn’t enough, I’ve got a handful of friends who are all over the Illuminati the Knights Templar, and Free Masons.  So I’ve been familiar with all too many tricks with revealing messages with folding a dollar bill in a certain way.  But when I saw a series of photos using the same trick to produce some wild images, I was impressed.  It just goes to show, with some creativity and folding, the George Washington emblazoned bill can produce some rather entertaining and thought provoking messages.

The Bugatti Veryron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc.

Bugatti in collaboration with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur has released unique version of Bugatti Veyron – Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc.  The ‘L’Or Blanc’ was unveiled on Thursday in Berlin, German. It’s the world’s first vehicle with porcelain elements in exterior and interior design.  Porcelain is used in seven locations on the L’Or Blanc, including the wheel centers, fuel and oil filler caps, and the large “EB” badge on the back.  Five places inside the cabin are rendered in porcelain as well: the center-console surround; signed trim plates on each side of the center console; the removable, diamond-polished dish atop the center console; and a relief between the seatbacks depicting an elephant standing on its hind legs.  According to Bugatti, that elephant was the inspiration for the partnership between Bugatti and KPM.  This gorgeous, elaborately hand-painted blue-and-white Bugatti is still available for purchase for €1.65 million ($2.4 million USD).

Lil Niqo’s BMF Freestyle.

Child exploitation is always something I’ve been apposed to.  It takes a person time and experience to be good at what they do.  Although it takes 1,000 hours to be an expert at your craft, some people seem to skip ahead.  One of my best friends showed me a video the other day of a rapper named Lil Niqo.  I was shocked to find out that the “Lil” in Lil Nio was nothing short of the understatement of the year.  None the less, the people behind him have put a lot of effort into presenting him to the world.  Check out his BMF freestyle, and feel free to share your opinion of it.

4th Of July on Almanore Lake.

I know that over the last few days, my blog has slowed down quite a bit. The frequency and depth of posts have been slacking since the 2nd of July. The reason for this was me taking a vacation with a couple of friends out on Lake Almanore. We all took off work, came, relaxed, met new people, and had an amazing time Jet skiing, boating, swimming, and drinking. (most of the time we did anything was also spend drinking.) I shared some pictures and videos on my personal facebook page, but the ones for the public are just below. Check the method. (And thank you SO much to everyone who was there to make that trip so fun.)

Miraculous BMW Drift Video.

On my vacation I made the acquaintance of a female street racer that made me reminisce on the ‘good old days’ of precision driving, and being able to push a car to its limits.  This video is a perfect demonstration of what I mean by pushing a car (and its driver) to the limits.  The 340bhp twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six (and that M3 rear differential) get a thorough workout in this video, posted by BMW Canada. I’m not clear on the advertising message, but it’s definitely worth a watch.

Goyard Exclsive Scarves.

French luggage maker Goyard have released a selection of scarves in their first foray outside of luggage and travel accessories.  The scarves are made of fine silk and are hand printed with an artisitc interpretation on Goyard’s signature “Y” chevron pattern.  There are 4 scarves in blue, orange, white, and pink colorways that match pieces from the Goyard luggage line.

DJ Khaled’s We The Best Tour.

Everyone know DJ Khaled’s favorite catch phrase “We The Best”, and now he’s taken it from a saying, to an album (dropping July 19th), to a tour.  Check out one of his Las Vegas video blogs featuring all sorts craziness.

Anna Rincon vs. Vanna Black.

So, once again the time has come when I need the public’s personal opinion. After a conversation between a staff-member and I about the two lovely women below, I decided to put up another poll and ask who you think is hotter

.

Anna Rincon has proven to be a triple threat in mainstream media; demonstrating capabilities of excelling with talent in Film as an Actress, A video Model and having the grace and looks to cover magazines as well as showing off her dance moves. Her nationality being Mexican- American gives her the opportunity to work in both English and Spanish market. Being Beautiful and Talented defines her in the category to be one of the most wanted Video/Model Vixen in the Music industry- she has worked with major artists like Colby O Donis, International artist Akon, R&B megastar Usher and Latin Urban Artist Daddy Yankee. Along with video modeling, she has graced magazine covers of Source and Low Rider Magazines, as well as going international for centerfolds all over Latin America. Anna Rincon’s diverse talent has proven to be a natural when it comes to films and television media. She has previously worked on MTV, Si Tv and Telemundo to host and has been invited for numerous guest appearances. Although Anna is always busy, she finds time to unwind and hopes to open her dance studio and agency one day.

The incredible rapper/model is of African-American, French, Irish, Dutch, and Cherokee heritage, giving her an exotic and stunning appearance that is all her own. She was born and raised in the corrupted slums of West Philadelphia.  Vanna began rapping during her freshman year in high school. “I was always a good writer and always loved rap and one night I was just sitting around and started writing,” she recalls. “I took it to school the next day and let the boys hear it and they loved it. I kept doing it and after a while it turned into a passion.”  She first considered modeling a year later when a photographer approached her and offered to take some photos of her. A few short years later Vanna found her career beginning to take off. Thus far, her stint in modeling has been a successful one. Vanna has appeared in the pages of several top urban magazines as well as in numerous product advertisements, music videos, and calendars. Her resume continues to grow.

Stamps for £1m‎?

The world’s most famous stamp, the elusive “Post Office Mauritius”, was sold the other day for a record breaking £1,053,090 ($1,600,000) at Spink in London.  This is a record price for a stamp sold in the United Kingdom.  Nearly half a dozen bidders in the room participated as the price of the lot shot skyward.  The stamp was one of the highlights of the Chartwell collection formed by businessman and philanthropist Sir Cyril Humphrey Cripps.  Over the next 18 months, Spink will sell The Chartwell Collection, which is the most valuable collection of stamps to come up for auction in modern times.  The collection consists of some of the finest material for Great Britain and the British Empire ever seen before and it is all material that is fresh to the marketplace.  Currently held in just over 80 stamp albums, The Chartwell Collection is estimated to fetch well in excess of £20,000,000 before the last lot is sold in December 2012.  Olivier Stocker, Chairman and CEO of Spink, comments: “The Chartwell Collection is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the biggest “wow” moments we have ever experienced here at Southampton Row.  When the collection arrived in London it was amazing to watch as our specialists turned the pages of what may be one of the finest philatelic collections of our time.  Over eighty albums were opened, examined and taken in and it was wonderful to see the faces of the Spink team as treasure after treasure was revealed.  The story behind this collection is absolutely amazing and so unusual in so many ways. It is a great pleasure to be a part of these momentous sales.”  For all that money, the message you send with that stamp better be important.

Ski Beatz Live in Studio.

Ski Beatz has been doing his thing in the studio for quite some time.  DJ Ski (a.k.a. Ski Beatz) just dropped a video that has been spreading its way all over the web for about a week now.  The mini-doc features his front to back process creating a beat.  It’s always fascinating to me to be around for the creative process, so getting such an intimate look at a pro is always dope.  Check the method below.

Children’s Drawings Re-Imagined.

Children have incredible imaginations.  By best friend’s daughter Kayla has said some the wildest thing ever in life, and some of the pictures she’s shown me from school are… bewildering.  Butwhat would a child’s drawing look like if it were painted realistically? The Monster Engine takes children’s drawings and paints them realistically.  This project is probably one of my favorite spins on art I’ve seen in a while.  Check the method below.
